TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Claudine Domdrowski has been my client here at Tte Center for

Counseling for five sessions beginning on September 6, 1996. The
most recent session was on January 15, 1997. Her main areas of
concern were dealing with the stress of the custody issues with her
ex-husband, Hal. Claudine also requested parenting sessions for
her daughter, Ricki.

Claudine has obtained a job at Larned State Hospital that she

enjoys. She also is looking for a permanent home to buy in Larned
or Pawnee Rock, Kansas. The last time I saw her, Claudine
appeared more relaxed and hopeful for the resolution of issues
concerning her daughter Ricki and her divorce. My impression of
Claudine is that she loves Ricki and is intent on making a good
home and life for her daughter. She is very open to parenting
suggestions. Ricki is a little girl who appears to be thriving,
healthy, and at ease when in the sessions with her mother.
Claudine has indicated to me that it's her intention to remain in
counseling to work through past issues of abuse from her ex-husband
and to help receive parenting skills for her da~ghter.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know.

Sincerely'~

Judge Jan Luenberger

RE: Claudine Dombrowski

Dear Judge Luenberger,

Claudine Dombrowski has been my client here at The Center for

Counseling and Consultation beginning September 6, 1996. She
requested counseling help in dealing with the stress concerning the
custody issues over her daughter, Ricki.

Claudine related to this therapist about the trauma that she

believes her daughter went through by being placed back in the
custody of her ex-husband Hal. She stated that Ricki had a flat
affect and would not relate with her at first. Since the separation
Ricki has regressed and wants to wear a diaper and desires a bottle
again. ,Ricki has also been exhibiting extreme temper tantrums such
as hitting and kicking that she has not seen from her in the past.

I observe Claudine to be an excellent mother with Ricki. She plans

her life around this little girl. She believes that her future for
Ricki and herself are in the town of Larned, Kansas where she has
an excellent job with good benefits. Her recent goal is to obtain
a house in three weeks in the town of Pawnee Rock which will be
close to Larned but would improve her living situation and would
provide a yard for Ricki. She is determined to not get involved in
a new relationship since she wants to make decisions that concern
only her little girl. Claudine is a loving, devoted mother that has
been devastated by the ruling of the court.

Tu ',yhom it may concr::rn:

I have observed Rikki Domln-owski during her mother's

individual therapy sessions here at The Center for Counseling for
approximately one year. During this time period, Rikki appeared to
be a well adjusted, happy child. She adapted to her surroundings
and would frequently leave her mother's side and explore my office.
One time when Claudine was crying about Rikki having to leave for
;;3 week, Rikki climbed up in her mother's lap and wiped her mother's
tears with a kleenex. Claudine is a loving, conscientious parent
to her daughter Rikki. Her daughter's welfare is her first
concern.

After the ruling from the court that Rikki should visit her
father for one week out of each month, Rikki seemed to be more
h~sitant to explore. Her need to sit on her mother s lap and l

maintain contact was evident. In my professional opinion, no child

should be subjected to the lack of contact with her mother for a
week at a time, especially when the father does not allow phone
ront~rt. This is very traumatic for a young child when this has
not been the pattern in her life since birth. Separation anxiety
'is a concern for this type of situation.
