MASTER’S THESIS (Supervisor: Dr. Arvind Kumar) (Jan’19-Dec’19)

TITLE: Numerical analysis of phase change morphology in the Nano enhanced phase change materials (NEPCM)
considering the transport of Nano particles
To investigate the phase front morphology in NEPCM during discharging stage of thermal energy storage
Objective system (TES).

• Heterogeneous CFD model is developed using conservation equations and the effects of Nano particles
segregation, advection and particles mobility across the mushy zone with Brownian and
Modelling Thermophoresis diffusions are considered.
• FVM and Enthalpy-Porosity Technique along with SIMPLER algorithm is employed and successfully
implemented the formulation through code in FORTRAN 90 on LINUX.
