Hkkjr ds eq[; U;k;k/h'k ukylk ds çeq[k laj{kd gSA At the national level, the Chief Justice of India
is the Patron-in Chief of NALSA. The Senior
lqçhe dksVZ ds lcls ofj"B U;k;k/h'k ukylk ds Most Judge of the Supreme Court is the
dk;Zdkjh vè;{k gSaA dsaæ ljdkj us Hkkjr ds eq[; Executive Chairman. The Central
U;k;/h'k ds ijke'kZ ls mPp U;kf;d lsok ds ,d Government in consultation with the Chief
vf/dkjh dks ukylk dk lnL; lfpo fu;qDr fd;k Justice of India has also appointed a person
gSA as the Member Secretary of NALSA.
Supreme Court Legal Services Committee

In every High Court, a High Court Legal

Delhi State Legal Services Authority was
14-02-1996 dks gqvk FkkA fnYyh mPp U;k;ky; ds constituted on 14.02.1996. The Hon'ble Chief
ekuuh; mPp U;k;k/h'k blds izeq[k laj{kd ,oa Justice of Delhi High Court is Patron-in-chief
fnYyh mPp U;k;ky; ds vxys ofj"B ekuuh; and the next senior most Judge of the Delhi
U;k;k/h'k blds dk;Zdkjh vè;{k gSaA fnYyh jkT; High Court is the Chairperson of the Authority.

fof/d lsok;sa izkf/dj.k LFkkfir fd;s gSa vkSj fnYyh Authorities in all Districts and an officer of the
U;kf;d lsokvksa ds vf/dkjh muds iw.kZ&dkfyd Delhi Judicial Services is its Full-time
Secretary. The District Legal Services

legal aid in civil and criminal matters for those

disputes/cases pending in the court of law or

at pre-litigation stage are settled/

1987 ds rgr yksd vnkyr }kjk fd, x, vokMZ dks Services Authority Act, 1987 an award made
flfoy vnkyr dh fMØh le>k tkrk gS vkSj ;g by a Lok Adalat is deemed to be a decree of a
vafre vkSj lHkh nyksa ij ckè;dkjh gS rFkk blds civil court and is final and binding on all parties
and no appeal lies against thereto before any
