2019 Research Colloquium and Oral Presentation

I. INTRODUCTION

Research is a course included in the program of K-12, wherein students study things systematically
hence, it requires patience, strong passion and dedication to work.

Research writing and oral presentation is one of the major requirements for a Grade 12 student
to become a candidate for graduation, and in order to fulfill this requirement and at the same time
develop the research writing skills of the students in Cagayan Valley Computer & Information
Technology College, Inc (CVCITC), our research teacher, Ms. Keyzer Lane D. Sanchez together with
the help of other faculties organized the 2019 Research Colloquium and Oral presentation with the
theme “Bridging the Gaps of Academic Competency through Research Undertaking ” held on the 31st
of January, 2019 at the Function Hall of Cagayan Valley Computer & Information Technology College,
Inc. which open an opportunities to the Grade 12 students to present their completed research in
front of different panels together with other researchers. Through the help and support of the
respective panels of evaluators and coordinators, the students were able to gain a constructive
feedback from critics, research experts, research coordinator and research advisers for them to
improve their research work.

II. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN

PARALLEL SESSIONS

The researchers were grouped and assigned according to their clusters. Room 404 for the
researchers from H.E. and S.T.E.M., room 405 for the participants from I.C.T., and room 305 for the
researchers coming from A.B.M. including one of the group from STEM and ICT as well. On the first
day of the program, some of the researchers were able to finalize their research papers while others

are still busy in finalizing their works. The students who are already done with their outputs helped
in the cleaning and decorating the function hall, and preparing the rooms for each cluster.

2nd DAY

Before the oral presentation started, there was an opening program which includes
opening prayer, singing of national anthem, opening remarks of Ma’am Jackielyn Lacebal, and the
message and word of wisdom of Ma’am Ella B. Tumaneng, SHS Principal. After the oral presentations,
speech of gratitude, and the awarding of certificates follow.

III. ORAL PRESENTATIONS OF RESEARCH (2nd Day)

There were three room assigned for the oral presentations of the researchers. The research paper
with the title of “The Availability and Adequacy of Science Laboratory Equipment in CVCITC in
Compliance With DepEd Requirements” by Zeus David A. Tesoro, Joy Challoy, Fraulien Msytica Tul-o
and Anjeli Victoria Malabanan, STEM strand, was approved for oral presentation and was submitted
prior to the program.

IV. PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED


 The room where our group presented were not well ventilated and/or the air
conditioner was not working.
