Creating a good robo advice product is a task for a team of experts in financial advice,
investment management and tech product development. If you do not know how to create Features of robo advisors?
a robo adviser, but intend to create one, then it is better you become an expert before you
take a decision to go ahead to create your own robo adviser. Robo advisor hongkong?

The robo advice industry is still nascent. We are still in the early-days of this industry, even
though this industry has been evolving since last 10 years. So, there are ample
opportunities for more innovation and better service.

That said, the entry barrier has increased for new entrants, because the existing robo
advice firms have been able to reach a certain level of product sophistication and brand
awareness. Moreover, robo advice firms should be prepared for the long haul to generate
profits. It is being discussed that a robo advice firm in the US should have at least US$40
billion under management to become cash-flow positive (assuming no further investment
in new product development). So, in every geographical market, only those firms that get
to a considerable scale will have a viable business in the long run. We at QuietGrowth
are very enthusiastic about the future evolution of the industry.

Good luck with your endeavour.

Assuming that you have the license from the local regulator and a custodian, you will need
to consider the following:

1. Investment Strategies (Active/ Passive/ Smart Beta) underpinned by relevant

instruments. Define exactly how you are going to measure a prospect/ client's risk
profile, do asset allocation and construct client's portfolio using the instruments
available to you.
2. Platform. My blog on this topic here should help --> T–3…2…1… Robo-Advisor

business technology components.

3. Sound strategy to acquire customers. This is a very crowded and competitive

marketplace and just offering lower management fee is a race to the bottom. You
need to think about innovative ways to acquire and engage customers. I have

Anything you create need to be able to deliver returns for individual investors. Therefore,
in my view, regardless of regulators position, a Robo platform should think of itself as a
Fiduciary and conduct it's business in such manner.

Hope this helps...
