Training on Irrigation Water Management

Trainer: Mohamoud Mohamed Abdulahi, MSc Water and Land Management (University of Florence, Italy)

TRAINING Duration: 4 days (24 hours)

TRAINING DESCRIPTION
Irrigation principles: Evapo-transpiration, irrigation requirements and scheduling, plant-soil-water relationship, efficiencies, selection and management of irrigation
systems, Using Softwares:
New_LocClimWAT, SPAW, HWSD and CropWat,

1. TRAINING OBJECTIVES
To fill local NGOs and stakeholder’s capacity gap on implementation of irrigation scheme through technical training on irrigation development also to produce participants
who:
 understand the concepts, principles and application of irrigation in enhancement of crop production
 are competent in the design, installation and management of irrigation systems
