 Reading – Read Scholastic Magazine article “Apple Science” and answer this
question: What 3 things did you learn from the article? (Remember to put
your ideas into your own words. Do not copy word for word from the
magazine.)
 Word Study – Write a sentence for words 1-5. Underline the word in the
sentence.

Wednesday
 Math – Workbook Page 89 Question 2 and Page 91 (Solve and Share)
 PARENTS – Please feel free to complete any additional problems for lesson
2.1 if you feel your child needs additional practice. Please do not complete
any problems for the next day’s lesson.
 Reading – Read a fiction book for 20 minutes. Write down the title of the
book you read and make a text-to-self connection: Does this story remind
you of anything that has happened in your own life? Explain.
 Word Study – Write a spelling story using this week’s sight words.

Thursday
 Math – Workbook Page 95 Question 2 and Page 97 (Solve and Share)

2.2 if you feel your child needs additional practice. Please do not complete
any problems for the next day’s lesson.
 Reading – Read a fiction book for 20 minutes. Write down the title of the
book you read and answer this question: What is your favorite part of the
story? Why?
 Word Study– Words 9-12 make the “short o” sound. Write 4 new words
that have the “short o” sound. (Hint: Think about words that rhyme with
words 9-12 or any new words with “short o” sound.)
