I greet you all in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ by whom we are all called to be a faithful witness
for the sake of the gospel.

MESSAGE: YOU WILL BE MY WITNESS

SCRIPTURE READING:

ANOINTED TO WITNESS THE GOSPEL FOR CHRIST
 Acts 1:8 – “But ye shall receive power (‘dunamis’ – miraculous force), after that the Holy Ghost is come
upon you: and ye shall be witnesses (‘martus’ – witness/martyr) unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all
Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
 Holy Spirit commits and baptizes us into our calling, a life of true witnessing for Christ the gospel of
the Kingdom of Heaven.
 Philippians 1:12 & 28-30 – Our lives are no longer ours but Christ’s who gives us the privilege to serve
him for the sake of the gospel by;
Believing in him, Suffering for him and partaking in the battle without fear because God gives us victory
 Revelations 12:11 – “And they overcame (‘nikao’ – subdue) him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the
word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
 This sacrificial witnessing means proclaiming the gospel relentlessly to the point of death.

WE ARE ALL SPECIAL PURPOSE PEOPLE

 Mathew 22:11-12 –“And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on
a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding
garment? And he was speechless.”
 We must wear our wedding gowns and wash them white every day “for many are invited but few are
chosen” and no one knows the day and time of the wedding feast.
 2Timothy 2:20-21 – We must make ourselves to be candidates of choice to be used for special
purpose by cleansing ourselves from all false teachings and selfish desires.
 Romans 8:28-30 – We receive special favour and grace to carry out God’s purpose and are therefore
set aside to share his glory.
 Luke 13:6-9 – “Just one more year!” Jesus intercedes to God for us as we fail to bear the right fruits
at the right time as his special trees. Figs amongst the vine.
 Isaiah 53:2 & 48:11 – Special Purpose vessels do not attract attention to themselves as they are
always at the service of the master who must get all the glory.
 Mark 11:12-14 & Mathew 7:22-23 – Pride and Coveting aborts God’s purpose for our lives.
 Ephesians 5:16-17 - All work done outside of your purpose is wasted time. Find out from God what your
purpose is.
 Special purpose - Nations (Israel, China, Kenya, India, SA), Cities, Churches, Families, Companies,
Organizations, People?

THE COST OF WITNESSING THE GOSPEL FOR CHRIST

 2 Timothy 3:12 – “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution (
‘dioko’ – cause to flee).”
 The Unpopular Promise of the gospel. Do not engage in pity partying.
 1 Peter 2:21 – “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an
example, that ye should follow his steps”
 Look at Christ’s own perfect example of conduct while enduring undue suffering for the sake of the
gospel.
 Walk in his footsteps; Check your attitude and motive; His record of righteousness is perfect; Bear
your back to those who beat you (Isaiah 50:6); Brace yourself to endure their blows! - Take Heart I
have defeated the world!

THE FAITHFUL WITNESS BEFORE GOD’S THRONE

 Revelations 6:9-11 & 7:9-17 – The faithful ones are those who come through the great tribulation on
earth for the sake of the gospel and keep their faith whilst fulfilling their purpose.

THE GOSPEL MESSAGE

 Mathew 5, 6 & 7 – We must be careful of what we are building on what foundation. This is the
foundation that Christ established for the gospel. This is the gospel message. This is True Happiness!
 Be witness and bear fruit for Christ now.
