today I would like to talk about the disadvantage of educational

system in Hong Kong and the other factors that causing teens
suicide.

The educational system in Hong Kong has been criticized by the

public for a long time. Firstly, Some people argue that the
education system is too exam-oriented and only focus on
outputting elite. Thus, it puts students under great pressure. There
are students who committed suicide, the number of cases is
increasing recently.

Secondly, some experts claim that quite a few schools overly

stress “reciting” material, which requires students to memorize
information verbatim. Further, the “spoon-fed” teaching style does
not allow for lively student debates or the promotion of critical
thinking. There is a worry that the mechanical reciting and negative
acceptance of learning materials will restrain potential creativity
and imagination among students.

For the family, the one place of connection that has the potential to
be most stable for all children, teens, and adults alike is the family
environment. The first place we feel love or acceptance or hatred
and a lack of acceptance is in the family. There are many of family
is having parent-child relationship disorder is what has been called
living parents’ parentless children because the parents are too
absorbed in their working routines or too busy with problems
supposedly more important than to dedicate a few hours to
intimate with their children. In this cases, the parents leave their
homes early in the morning when children have not awaken yet and
return back home when their children have already gone to bed and
fallen asleep.

Living parents’ parentless children are also those whose parents

are unconscious, insecure, pusillanimous, unsuitable, unable to
satisfy their children spiritual needs; parents who, literally
speaking, their children cannot rely on to solve the problems that
life poses before them. These children do not have a pattern to
imitate. In both cases the feelings of loneliness that living parents’
parentless children experience may lead them to a suicidal
act.Also, some of the parents may have too high expectation to
their children, this will lead to children having more stress.
Children become suicidal is because it is too much for him to take
it, so the children feeling that he has disappointed his parents. The
accumulated stress and the resulting depression caused him to
give up.Finally it lead to suicide.

For the school, bullying is the major factor that causing teens
suicide. A Canadian study suggests that adolescents who
experienced severe bullying by their peers earlier in childhood may
be more likely to suffer from depression, anxiety and suicidal
thoughts than teens who weren’t routinely victimized by other kids.
