The main aim of the project is to establish an operations lab in TAPMI to facilitate
better learning experience for the operations specialization students of TAPMI.
The project is aimed to provide state of the art facilities for the students of TAPMI
to get a better practical experience at not only understanding the key concepts of
operations but also the core understanding of the industry technologies and
requirements. The project of setting up a operations lab in TAPMI is to provide an
holistic experience for all the students at TAPMI who are aspiring to major in
Operations and make them hone their skills through practical application.
The operations lab isn’t available for students of most of the top b-schools in
India. TAPMI will be one of the first few colleges in India to be having this state of
the art operations lab especially for the operations students. It will help TAPMI in
gaining international recognition in terms of infrastructural abilities just like the
acclaim it got for it’s state of the art finance lab , consisting of 16 Bloomberg
terminals. This will enhance TAPMI's overall reputation in going up the rankings in
it’s quest of becoming one of the top b-schools in India. It will bring in more
interest among students wanting to take up operations as their specialization,
which will facilitate in better admissions intake for the operations branch. This
unique state of the art lab will help in convincing more and more companies to
offer more operations role at TAPMI and hire the brightest minds in the
operations arena. It will also attract a lot attention from the industry in terms of
live projects and internship opportunities which will help the students in gaining a
more complete industry experience from the PGDM programme.
As the operations lab isn’t available in most of the Indian b-schools it will be in
line with endeavour of TAPMI in competing with the best institutes
internationally. This will bring in international recognition towards TAPMI
facilitating in it’s claim to get EQUIS accreditation.

Why should it be undertaken now :-

The project if undertaken now will be completed by the end of September 2020
and can be rolled out on October 1st 2020. This will facilitate an unique
opportunity to provide the facility of using the operations lab and enhancing their
applications knowledge of operations for the current students of PGDM batch
2019-2021. Also, with TAPMI looking for the accreditation from EQUIS. This
operations lab being constructed now will give TAPMI the edge over the other b-
schools as mostly none of the top b-schools in India have this facility for their
students. This means that TAPMI will be recognized as one of the few b-schools
on India to have this unique facility. It will make TAPMI an international
recognizable facility for operations due it’s first movers advantage. It will help in
it’s endeavors of getting accreditation through EQUIS.
