Dear MR MAQAKAMBA

Your application to Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education ( APK PART-TIME ) for 2020 refers.

Your current status for the above mentioned qualification is – pending outcome of first choice (8P).

Pending outcome of first choice scenarios:

UNDERGRADUATE APPLICANTS

· SCENARIO 1
First choice = Provisionally Selected

Your second choice will remain as ‘pending outcome of first choice’. The University of
Johannesburg does not do simultaneous selections. We will only process a second choice if
the first choice was not successful. In January 2020 if you no longer qualify for your first
choice with your final grade 12 results, the University will automatically determine whether you
qualify for your second choice. The selection on your second choice will also be based on
space availability.

· SCENARIO 2
First choice = Interview

Your second choice will remain on status ‘pending outcome of first choice’. The University of
Johannesburg does not do simultaneous selections. In January 2020 if you no longer qualify
for your first choice with your final grade 12 results, the University will automatically determine
whether you qualify for your second choice. The selection on your second choice will also be
based on space availability.
POSTGRADUATE APPLICANTS
The University of Johannesburg does not do simultaneous selections. Your second choice will
remain on status ‘pending outcome of first choice’ until a final selection has been made on your
first choice. If you are admitted on your first choice, then your second choice will remain on status
‘pending outcome of first choice’. If you are conditionally admitted or provisionally selected on your
first choice, your second choice will only be finalised should your first choice be unsuccessful.

ADMISSION STATUS VERIFICATION


Your selection/admission can be verified on the UJ website: https://student.uj.ac.za/status.aspx.
No notice regarding your selection/admission is official and binding on the University unless it has
been sent by e-mail to you from the University’s server or uploaded by the University to the above
website.

VERIFICATION OF PREVIOUS QUALIFICATION(S)


Where applicable, the University of Johannesburg will verify your previous qualification(s) in order
to determine a) the authenticity of the qualification(s) awarded, and b) that the qualification(s) was
issued in your name by the said tertiary institution(s).

The University of Johannesburg has the right to a) cancel the application or b) cancel the registration
of an applicant, should the University of Johannesburg have reason to believe that there was any
error, or dishonest or fraudulent conduct in connection with the obtaining of the qualification or in
respect of the qualification certificate.

DISCLAIMER
Where applicable, the University of Johannesburg reserves the right to review the admission or
registration status of an applicant where an applicant did not:

a) Indicate details of previous studies both current and prior to the application.
b) Indicate the correct matric type at the time of application.
c) Indicate any other relevant/correct information
d) Supply documentation that could have affected the decision process of the application.

The University of Johannesburg reserves the right to review the admission or registration status of
an applicant where the University establishes that there is an administrative oversight. In such an
instance, the University will rectify the error and communicate the change to the applicant.
