Dear Dr. Gomez:

Greetings of Peace!
Thank you most sincerely, for sending your Principals or their representatives to the just concluded Supervisors'
Conference where they and their future volunteers experienced rich mutual learning. The Principals also learned
about their roles as the volunteers' supervisors and how best their schools can get the most out of the partnership
with a volunteer. Equally, the volunteers who went with their Principals to their future sites for a two-day visit,
returned to their training site with a lot of positive stories.
This time, we would like to invite the counterparts - the teachers who will be actually co-teaching with the
volunteers on a day to day basis - to the Group 269 Counterparts' Conference on November 8-11 and
Swearing-In Ceremony on November 12, 2010.
The principals identified these teachers based on the criteria we provided them i.e. teacher should be open to
sharing and learning, willing to work with a volunteer and, available for possible after class activities. At the
conference, the co-teachers and the volunteers will start getting to know their roles within the framework of the
project and the requirements of the Department of Education, working styles and how they can use this
knowledge to make their working relationship work positively, agreeing on expectations, doing work planning and
engaging in practice co-planning and co-teaching. We would appreciate if they can bring a sample of a
lesson plan in English and their copy of the 6-month activity plan that their principals and the volunteer
prepared during the Supervisors' Conference.
For your division, the invited teachers are as follows:

1. Ms. Renelie Urate - Pres. Manuel Roxas Memorial School

Peace Corps Philippines will shoulder expenses for transportation to and from the conference venue, meals and
accommodation during the event. Gasoline expenses for use of office or personal vehicles will not be
reimbursed. Please see the attached detailed logistics information for your reference and guidance. Should you

We will be furnishing a copy of this letter to the principals where feasible but we will also inform them that we are
sending you this letter.
