IV. Rationale:

The Grade 12 students in Humanities and Social Sciences are required to produce
quality research outputs. One of the tenets of the strand is inculcating the arts and discipline
of the research writing among the students. But research writing is not an easy task especially
for students who are just beginning to explore their interest in conducting researches
interesting to them.
In line with this, the HUMSS department will be conducting a research project panel
defense and symposium in which the students will be required to defend their exposing the
learners to the different research activities they will encounter in college and in the corporate
world as well.
V. Objectives:
The following are objectives of the School- Based Research Project Panel Defense
and Symposium:

The students will be able to

a) Defend written research project
b) Revise written research report based on suggestions and recommendations of
panelists; and
c) Present a comprehensive research report in a symposium.
