School Uniform should not be Mandatory

Many of us students now a days really wants to implement that school uniform should not be required
specifically to the students who enroll to the public schools. In reality did the uniform has a big help for the
students? Or does the uniform make the situation of the students more critical? Because based on my
experience many of the students get bullied even if they wear the school uniform. Does the school really
understands the situation of the poor students at the public school? Did they really care to the poor ones who
can’t buy some set of uniform?

According to Priya Srinivasan that there are 5 reasons why uniforms should be banned the first is
they’re expensive and the parents can’t really afford to buy a set of uniform for their children. Second, they’re
uncomfortable specifically for the girl’s uniform because it is a skirt then the girl’s should ensure that it doesn’t
fly up. Third, they force us to conform which squelch our freedom of expression and for us to be not creative
with our sense of styles. Clothing for the students is the way to explore and discover the identity for being a
stylish ones. Fourth, it can lower our self-esteem the students can really feel embarrassed every time they look
in a mirror as their uniform emphasizes everything they don’t like about their body. Then the fifth and the last
one is, they’re boring because however we look at it, being a part of a crowd is very boring. Most uniforms come
in ugly pattern if you’re lucky and don’t have to wear a solid color. We have to wear the uniform every single
day, 6 times a week, for over 10 years.

According also to anonymous that when wearing school uniforms everyday, same dress code every
week, same color pants and shirts every week are not easy for many parents to afford. The author stated that
“Students should be able to have a choice to wear whatever they want”. Based to the author as a student it is
hard to express yourself with all the enforced rules. The students should have their freedom to show their own
styles of their outfits. Thee school should not have a mandatory of wearing uniforms.

According also to Emma Jacobs that wearing a school uniform doesn’t help the students learn.
Uniforms may work for police officers, soldiers and neo-Nazis but they have no place in schools. The Bradford
kids should ear what they want, their schools should let them - and then everyone could get on with some
actual learning in school. The learning of the students does not based on what they really wear, at least they are
comfortable of what they really they can learn as much as it can. Being comfortable of wearing some outfits can
high your self-esteem and can boost your confidence to be a productive students in school.

In the conclusion of this is that school uniform should not be mandatory specifically to the public
students because not all the parents of the students can afford the expensive set of a uniform. The uniform also
does not have a big impact to the students to really learn instead being so uncomfortable of the students
wearing uniform can low their self-esteem and can lead them having a lower grades. The students should have
their own freedom to choose of what they really want to wear and for what they really prefer to wear. It should
have the freedom to choose for what is the best style that they can have for them to boost their confidence not
just in styling their outfits but also in cooperating to the classes. School uniform should be banned because it can
limit the freedom of the students.
