We prepare our students for a career in an exciting industry by covering
all areas of air travel from airlines, airports, air traffic control and ground
handling to marketing, financing, cargo and so on. Our graduates generally
start their careers as a qualified member of a team and then move on
from the position of team leader to middle management – such as at an airline, airport,
handling or consulting firm. In these positions, for example, they expand the airline’s
network, set fares or conduct competitor analyses. The career opportunities look
very good, as the demand for air transport services is increasing alongside the
booming economy. Many graduates already have an employment contract when
they complete their last exam. However, worldwide readiness to work in a global
industry is a must, in addition to an unconditional ability to work as part of a team.”

The hospitality industry is an important job creator and economic factor:
one in every ten jobs worldwide is based in tourism. BUT, there are genuinely
few ‘Hospitality Managers’. More accurately, this term sums up all leading and
managerial positions within the hospitality industry. This is first divided into
the hotel and catering industries; secondly into companies which combine hospitality
with other sectors, such as, for example, the cruise industry, or the conference and
health industries; and thirdly, into those service providers who offer services for the
industry, in fields such as technology, consulting or e-commerce. In accordance with
this diversity, the career prospects of our graduates are very positive, as the growing
demand also increases the demand for qualified young talent. Our graduates are
working successfully across the globe, many of them in managerial positions, in all
three areas. At IUBH, we impart knowledge for all disciplines of business relevance, and
expand on these through high-quality guest lecturers from the business, current
case studies, consulting projects, excursions, and practical exercises.”

As an IT Manager, it is your job to ensure that the best possible use is made
of the data, information and knowledge of a company. You represent the
interface between company management and information technology,
and lay the foundations for risk assessment and information security.
You manage development projects across departments, processes and technologies,
and cooperate with partner businesses, companies or governmental organisations.
IT Managers are among the most sought-after specialist staff in industry, in the
public sector, and in governmental organisations. Areas of application include
information management in start-ups, to small- and medium-sized companies,
to the computer centres of corporate groups and institutions which operate
on a global scale. At the IUBH, we optimally prepare you for this in a practice-
oriented manner: a high measure of personal interaction, work in project
groups, continuous supervision, and the readiness to integrate your pre-existing
knowledge and experiences form the basis for your career in this interdisciplinary
and challenging environment.”

A broad scope of duties awaits a future Marketing Manager. Classically, the
entry into the career occurs via product management or sales, but the tasks
evolve in a very dynamic way. In the age of digitalisation, analytical skills
are becoming increasingly important, as illustrated by the fields of big data
and by the challenges in online marketing. Due to the dynamism in this professional
field, we at the IUBH are focused on enabling the students to be able to handle the
constantly-increasing flow of information, to recognise structures, and to critically
question concepts. IUBH provides an education which is heavily practice-oriented,
so that our graduates are immediately ready for work, and so that they know
what to expect in their future career. Their career prospects are good because,
thanks to digitalisation, many new fields are opening up in marketing in which
young executives can very quickly make a name for themselves as ‘digital natives’.“

which is necessary for businesses and society. Graduates of our course take on
tasks in middle- and upper management, from project management to founding
their own businesses. Based on their initial professional experiences in the
most varied of areas, they have developed expectations of themselves and of
their work which include responsibility for employees and an understanding
of economic connections within the business. The career prospects are
excellent: as shown by taking just a quick glance at the relevant job portals,
companies today expect work experience, intercultural skills, specialist
knowledge and leadership skills. These are all qualities provided by our
