My Philosophy as aTeacher

Dealing with young minds is not an easy profession. It really required a lot of

patience, understanding, dedication and the whole you. It only means that a real teacher

should be committed enough to her service.

When I became a teacher, I bear in my mind that teaching is not just a profession.

It’s a MISSION and not just a job. I thought of a better ways on how to deal with the

environment as a teacher. I understand that as a grade one teacher, I must impart

learners the proper values, knowledge, skills and cultivate a good foundation of learnings

and encourage them to apply their learnings in home and community. That, teachers

should demonstrate value for learning, promote purposive study and must take pride with

the nobility of the profession. I know that I must be responsible about my obligations as a

teacher and I must be fair in treating the students regardless of their social standing. In

terms of creating instructional materials, I must have a sense of creativity resourcefulness

appropriately utilize the available materials, and of course, I must also equip with

technological knowledge in doing IM to cope up the needs and interests of the digital

learners.

Considering myself to be a professional teacher, I must possess dignity and reputation

with high moral values, and practice a set of ethical and moral principles. I must manifest

genuine enthusiasm and pride in teaching and uphold the highest possible standards of

quality education and make the best for my teaching career. I must maintain at all times

a dignified personality which could serve as model emulation by learners, peers and
others. I must recognize that the interest and welfare of the learners are first and foremost

my concern and handle each learner justly and impartially. I will treat everyone with

respect and will never publicly humiliate or belittle those students who commit mistakes.

I know too that teacher is likely to be judge by her words or actions. So I will make sure

that everything is fine and run smoothly I must look very presentable all the time and I will

dress like a professional. I must see to it that I am well prepared before I go to school and

also observe my time for work. As a professional teacher,I should create a child-friendly

environment to captivate the learners interests and motivations to study very well. I must

see to it that I have a good communication with the parents in terms of educational

process of their children.

Being guided with the NCBTS domains, I confidently believe that as an educator, I can

use my voice to influence my students to become globally competitive learners equipped

with appropriate knowledge, skills and values. Dealing with the challenges of being a

globally competitive teacher nowadays, well, THAT IS MY MISSION! I will never stop with

the knowledge I already have right now, instead, I will pursue learning things around us

to be updated with the changes in this modern world. Yes, through the guidance of God

and the Code of Ethics for Teachers, I know that I could be an effective and efficient

teacher. I can proudly say that I Can Be A Teacher, I Will Be A Teacher and I AM A

TEACHER!.
