1. Describe how religion and language affect and change each other to shape
cultures. (Consider what happens to a society’s religion and language when a
different religion or language diffuses into the place).

Culture shape by a behavior by people or a group of people. Religions have a rule

to do and it will shape the behavior and the activity of the people. Religions, will
mix with the local culture, because local culture will adapt and sustain with the
rule of the religions. When different religion or language diffuses into place it will
take time for the environment to acknowledge the religions or language itself. But
when it diffuses and came with the large mass or large community it will possible
to change the environment and the society around it.

2. Migration plays a large role in the diffusion of religions, both universalizing and
ethnic. As Europe becomes more secular, migrants from outside of Europe
continue to settle in the region. Imagine Europe 30 years from now. Predict where
in Europe secularism will be the most prominent and where religious adherence
will strengthen.

When migrant came to Europe they decide to choose country which is wealthy,
whereas that country accapable to provide the needs that they need. Education,
Large employment place, and other stuff. For the most prominent area might be
western Europe because the condition in that country stable and safe, and the
religious adherence will streghten is islam. Because many migrant that come is
moslem and islam still spread around rapidly.

3. Choose a pilgrimage site, such as Mecca, Vatican City, or the Western Wall, and
describe how the act of pilgrimage (in some cases by millions) alters this place’s
cultural landscape and environment.

In mecca every year millions people do hajj to fulfill the responsibility as a

moslem. People do hajj in ka’bah which it’s the sacred place in islam. The
landscape around ka’bah there are many hotels around it, many people sell things,
and it’s alter the economy activity around ka’bah. Hajj season will provide many
people who come to arab and many of them will buy things for the gift or
souvenir back in their country.

4. Boal’sstudies in Northern Ireland demonstrate that solving a religious conflict is

typically not about theology; it is about identity. You are assigned the potentially
Nobel Prize-winning task of “solving” the conflict either in Northern Ireland or in
Israel and Palestine. Using Boal’sexample, determine how you can alter activity
spaces and change identities to create the conditions for long-lasting peace in one
of these major conflict zones.

For the case between Israel and Palestine, adjust the meeting and mediation for
both other countries, make a agreement for each other territories and identities.
Because boundaries can be make from the cultural landscape itself.
