STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I Sai Suvedhya R. am applying to join the Moot and Advocacy Society because
as every law student it’s my dream to become a good mooter. As I am still in
my first year of law school and being a student from the science background in
my intermediate years I have very little knowledge about the law and how
things work in the legal field. Being part of this society I can get a more
practical experience of the legal field in my formative years of law school which
I believe will help me tremendously in the future.

As a society member I hope to get a better idea about mooting and the entire
procedure behind it. I will get a better picture of how a motion for the moot is
chosen and why it is chosen and how to go about researching it. I will get to
meet like minded people and my seniors too and get to know their stories
about their moots and how they overcame all their fears to become successful.

As a society member I would like to contribute as a good manager. During my

school days I have managed a few events and have been appreciated for my
work. I worked for an NGO too and have managed events there too. I have
good communication skills too. My teachers have always praised me for the
way I interacted with my fellow classmates and how I resolved petty disputes
among all of us. I am diplomatic in nature and I have good negotiating skills
required of a good manager. As I have stated earlier that I am diplomatic in
nature and can handle disputes with ease I hope I can resolve problems if they
happen to occur at the last minute and hence project myself as a good disaster
manager. I am obedient and hard working and will make sure I do my duty
with utmost responsibility and accountability. I am good at adhering to
commands and being a good listener I can make sure I do the work as required
of the committee head. I believe these strengths of mine will be helpful to the
committee and I also hope to develop these skills further being a committee
member.
Coming from a family that is of a non-law background I happen to have little
knowledge about the law and the only thing I know about law is what I have
researched. Due to this reason I have confidence issues of my credibility as a
lawyer but being a part of this society I want to overcome these issues. This
society will give a much vast scope of learning and hence I know I overcome
my weaknesses. I hope when I graduate from law school I am not as confused
about the working of the legal field as I am now and this will only be possible if
I am a member of this society.

I hope to develop my soft skills further and interact more with like minded
people having the same interests. This will further help me in developing my
resume and creating a bigger circle which will be of tremendous help in the
future.

Keeping the aforementioned points in mind I hope you consider me as a

suitable candidate for the mooting and advocacy society. I promise to never let
you down and do all the work required of me with utmost dedication. I hope
being a committee member I can take this mooting society to much higher
levels. I hereby request the moot and advocacy society of DSNLU to induct me
as a member of this society.
