GREETINGS: Good morning children of God.

TEXT:
Okay, if you have your Bible with you; open it with me in the book of:
HOSEA 3:1-3
1 The Lord said to me, “Go, show your love to your wife again, though she is loved by another man and
is an adulteress. Love her as the Lord loves the Israelites, though they turn to other gods and love the
sacred raisin cakes.”
2 So I bought her for fifteen shekels of silver and about a homer and a lethech of barley.
3 Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with
any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”

OPENING PRAYER:
Lord Bless your Words this morning, your servant, and your people. In JESUS NAME. Amen.

THEME:
The title of my sermon this morning is:
“OUR REDEEMING LOVE WITH OTHERS”
INTRODUCTION:
To understand the book of Hosea, one must understand the background against which was written. The
book of Hosea was written by the prophet whose name it bears. The name “Hosea” means, “salvation.” This
book is literally a message of salvation to a spiritually bankrupt people. The story is all about Hosea redeeming
his wife from adultery and prostitution.
Have you ever experience to save others in different situation? How about in sharing the GOOD NEWS
or the FREE SALVATION for all?
How we can show our redeeming love into others?

SUB-POINTS:
I. PURSUING TO LOVE TOWARD OTHERS (vv. 1-2).

A. Love them even they are sinners.

-How we can love them? Ephesian 4: 32 says, "Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving
each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." Yes! We must love them even what, where, and who they
are. Because the Bible says, "Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love."
B. Remember that God loves them also.
-In what way that God loves them? John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one
and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." Also, God valued the
sinners' life especially their repentance (Luke 15:1-7, the story of the parable of the lost sheep).
C. Save them as God pays the price.
-How we can save them? Acts 4:12 says, "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name
under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved." So, as God already paid the price of our sins
NOW is our turn to save also the others as God-given mission to all believers. 2 Timothy 2:15 says, "Do your
best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who
correctly handles the word of truth."

II. GUIDE THEM FOR A LASTING PURPOSE (v. 3).

3 Then I told her, “You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with
any man, and I will behave the same way toward you.”

A. Guide Them For Their New Character

-You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man. It
means let us help and guide them for their new character and not only to share the Gospel about salvation-after
we let them on their own?, BUT to guide them for their new character until they become it a lifestyle.
B. Guide Them For Their New Commitment
-You are to live with me many days; you must not be a prostitute or be intimate with any man, and I
will behave the same way toward you. Hosea is telling Gomer that he expects her to live a new life of
chastity. So let us guide them for their new commitment of PURITY and to be the enemy of the sin. As we
live on this pleasing new commitment to God, let us show to them how we do it.
C. Guide Them For Their New Companion
-As they are in a slave of the sin/s and people who are in darkness before, today let us guide them for their
new companions the righteous and the Holy Spirit. Proverbs 2:20 says, "So you will walk in the way of good
men and keep to the paths of the righteous." And John 14:26-27 says, "But the Companion, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of
everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

CONCLUSION:
Years ago when a Pastor that pastoring a church in Kapatagan, he met a young boy in front of the sanctuary
carrying a rusty cage in which several birds fluttered nervously.
The Pastor inquired, “Son, where did you get those birds?”
The boy replied, “I trapped them out in the field.”
“What are you going to do with them?”
“I’m going to play with them, and then I guess I’ll just feed them to an old cat we have at home.”
When the Pastor offered to buy them, the lad exclaimed, “Mister, you don’t want them, they’re just little old
wild birds and can’t sing very well.”
The Pastor replied, “I’ll give you 200 pesos for the cage and the birds.”
“Okay, it’s a deal, but you’re making a bad bargain.”
The exchange was made and the boy went away whistling, happy with his money. The Pastor walked
around to the back of the church property, opened the door of the small wire coop, and let the struggling
creatures soar into the blue. The next Sunday he took the empty cage into the pulpit and used it to illustrate his
sermon about Christ’s coming to seek and to save the lost -- paying for them with His own precious blood.
“That boy told me the birds were not songbirds,” said that Pastor, “but when I released them and they
winged their way heavenward, it seemed to me they were singing, ‘Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed!”
You and I have been held captive to sin, but Christ has purchased our pardon and set us at liberty.
And you have more value than many sparrows. When a person has this life-changing experience, he will want
to sing, “Redeemed, redeemed, redeemed!”
Nothing in this world amazes me as much as the love of God. That He would love people like us, and
save us just because we took Him at His Word is astonishing, amazing, and wonderful.

ENDING:
I wonder, have you experienced the wonder of God redeeming love? If you have, you know what I’m
talking about. You should praise Him for His grace. If you have never experienced that redeeming love, I
invite you to come to Jesus Christ today. If you come to Him, He will save you, and you will change your life.

CLOSING PRAYER:
Let us pray: Heavenly Father thank you as you are our example of loving others in redemptive, holy and
rightful action. Your blood that set us free from darkness into light. So make us all as a salt of the world and a
light of it. In JESUS NAME. Amen.
