Journey Project Selection - Product Brainstorming Form

Name: Zach Morlidge

Project Title: Journey Therapy

Date: 8/22/19

TYPE OF PROJECT

❏ Design or improve a product, service or system

❏ Plan or organize an event or activity
❏ Learn, present, or demonstrate knowledge of an advanced skill
❏ Other: Design or create a rehabilitation plan/ documentation of the experience

OVERVIEW/PROJECT DESCRIPTION FROM LETTER OF INTENT:

Working with a group of 3. Each of us are going to create a routine for a specified body part. I have
the shoulder, Josh has the head, and Colin has the knee. We are going to shadow the head athletic
trainer at Clemson. We will evaluate the trainer/ therapist in action and try to learn as much as
possible. We will then each create a routine based on what we have learned and from extensive other
outside research.

GOALS: Your goals should be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely (S.M.A.R.T.)

The goal by the end of this project is to create multiple rehabilitation routines for various different body
parts. We want to create the best routines possible. We want to finish this goal by the deadline while
also getting a solid mentor and shadow them. We are going to present our video in Coach Green’s
health class and educate them on the subject of athletic training and rehabilitation. We will make one
video with three sections. My section will cover an Anterior Bankart repair routine, Colin’s will focus on
a torn ACL, and Josh’s part is based on concussions. We are aiming to finish before the due date,
November 4th.

RESEARCH CONNECTION: How does your project/product connect your research you’ve completed?

The 12 page research paper I conducted last year was on Athletic Training. I completed extensive
research on the subject so that I can look back to the paper when I need help.

BACKGROUND: What do you already know about the topic?

I know that you have to create a routine specifically for the injured individual based on his or her injury.
Athletic Trainers need to be able to diagnose injuries and know how to care for them as quickly as
possible.

TIMELINE: List your timeline below illustrating how you plan to spend half of your hours on the project.

Research more about the subject. Get an idea on how to create a routine based on the injury. Go to the
one or two mentors and learn as much as possible. Film what we went through to show we learned.
Come back and use the information we gathered and make our routines.

EVIDENCE: What will you produce to demonstrate that you have successfully completed this project?

We will produce a video where we demonstrate our routines on “patients”. We will also film the
processes of the mentor and what a person in the field does on a daily basis.
