 Three is a process to develop a design of a product according to the quality
requirements,

1. Market research and identify customer needed


Product design is depending of the customer requirements into a form
suitable for operation, production or use. And also we can identify so other
factors using market research. Such as,
1. Similar product available in a market and their quality
characteristic
2. competitive price level in a market
3. distribution channels

2. Establishing target specifications


Specifications define what the product is supposed to do. Serves as a
translation of customer needs into technical terms according to the quality.
Target specs are set early and refined as the team zeros in on a choice of
product Concept. Developing the actual specification following information are
concerned.
 Aesthetic characteristic of the product such as color, size etc.
 Performance characteristic
 Obligatory regulations or standards
 Important environmental factors
3. Concept generation
 The goal is to thoroughly explore the space of product concepts that
may address the customer needs.
 Consists of: External searches, Creative problem solving, Results in
maybe 10 to 20 concepts, each with a sketch and brief description.

4. Concept selection
 A process where each concept is evaluated to identify the most
promising concepts. In Concept selection we have to consider following
characteristic.
 Durability of the quality
 Degree of uniqueness
 Physiological safety
 Easy to care
 Delivery on time
 Serviceability
 Performance
 Reliability

5. Concept testing
One concepts have to test because of verify the customer needs.
Poor customer feedback could result in terminating a project.
