OBJECTIVES OF THE LESSON:

1. to revise past simple, past continuous and past perfect as used in story telling;
2. to consolidate students’ knowledge of the values of the narrative tenses;
3. to extend students knowledge of question forms in narrative tenses;
4. to hear examples of the target language in context and give practice in listening for specific
information and retelling a story;
5. to practice story telling using the past tenses.

To practice speed reading for general information


To match headings with paragraphs using synonyms and other references devices

MATERIALS:handouts, coursebook, pictures.

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS:

Ss might be tempted to speak in mother tongue;


Ss might be shy and unwilling to participate actively throughout the lesson.
Activity 1

The teacher greets the students and tries to create a positive atmosphere.

Teacher writes the title of the lesson on the board and asks the students if they can guess the
topic of the lesson
