‘My Sad Republic’

I saw the painting on the Gallery Indigo of BenCab Museum in Baguio City. When I
first saw it, it gives a feeling of being patriot in me, with a flag serves as a
protection or cover to a man which is somehow hurt or afraid in the dark. This one
became my favorite painting because it reminds us to love our country more and it
reminds us all the anonymous people or nameless people who fought and still
fighting for our country. The National Artist’s (Benedicto Cabrera) reminds us also
that ‘the fight is not yet over’.1111
