3. Explain in two or three sentences why you have chosen this article.
Global warming that occurs at this time is very dangerous and has an impact on rising
earth temperatures resulting in rising sea levels. Rising sea levels not only endanger
humans but also wildlife habitats. I have chosen this article because this article explains
how sea level rises and their impacts and provides solutions to prevent global warming.
4. Explain briefly in four or five sentences what the article is about.
The article explains how this temperature increase occurred within a period of 100 years,
this temperature increase also has an impact on sea level rise resulting in the destruction
of existing habitats. For example in the UK sea water has increased by about 10cm after
100 years and is predicted to be 59 cm by the end of this century. This sea level rise has
also affected the habitats of some animals such as polar bears and mangrove forests.
Global warming is caused by the accumulation of CO gas in the atmosphere. The cause
is the large amount of CO production on earth due to fossil combustion, factories, CFC
production and a lot of land made into plant land. The article explains that the best
solution is that we should be able to prevent the bad thing from global warming even
further by reducing greenhouse gas production, reducing fossil combustion, using
renewable energy and starting to save energy.
5. What is the writer’s message or purpose in writing this article?
The article advised that we can reduce global warming by not wasting electricity,
reducing the use of fossil fuels, reducing CO production to the atmosphere, starting to use
renewable energy to prevent global warming from happening. Because global warming
is very dangerous and has a serious impact on the environment not only for animals but
for us.
6. Give your personal comment on the article as a conclusion of your article review
This article is very good, precisely explaining what is global warming which results in
rising temperatures and rising sea levels. Explained the impact on the environment both
on the environment of animals, plants and humans. The article also explains how global
warming occurs and the solutions that must be done so that global warming does not
occur. However, the article does not explain how CO gas or fossil combustion can cause
global warming which causes an increase in temperature and sea level, this is very
important to explain so that people who read the article can understand more about global
warming.
