INTERNSHIP REPORT

Company Overview:
GroupM Pakistan is one of the leading media investment management
company of the World and Pakistan with a versatile and huge clientele.
GroupM promotes workplace diversity and gender equality. Not only does it
promote goal-based growth but, it also supports the notion of work-life
balance and encourages their employees to WPP trainings and other
external trainings to keep their skill set up-to date.

Department Overview:
The department I had been interning at was the human resource
department, the department all in all consists of exceptionally talented and
hard-working individuals who have been a great source of help and
guidance and furthermore each of them have served as amazing mentors
to me. The HR department here not only regulates policies to facilitate
smooth operational run of the organization but also maintains record of
every employee under the GroupM umbrella, HR department is also
responsible for conducting trainings, performance appraisal, recruitment
selection, inductions etc.
Internship Projects Assigned:
During my course of internship I had been assigned to check employee
records for important documents that had to be maintained by the company
the list of documents that had to be checked against the check-list were
scanned CNIC, background reference check, employee form, insurance
form, RPD,NDA, WPP training certificates that are mandatory for every
employee, offer letter, appointment letter, performance appraisal ,
increment letter, bonus letter and lastly promotion letter. My second
assignment included maintaining an employee experience sheet that had a
record of employees’ years of experience and a list of their previous
employers. The maintaining of this list is crucial because when recruitment
is conducted i.e. a media planner’s position the selected candidate is
compared with someone in the same position in the existing list of
employees with the same experience (number of years) so that the
package offered/ designed is not only market competitive but also
adequate according to experience. My third assignment comprised of
checking employee names in the company record against their CNIC to
ensure that there aren’t any variations in them so there aren’t any disputes
in the future in terms of any official matters. My assignments also included
partaking in the interview stage of the recruitment cycle for candidates
applying for assistant media planners and media planners my tasks
included alignment of interview timings and facilitating the candidates to
ensure that this process is carried out smoothly this was a little demanding
task considering the company is in between movement to the permanent
office (ocean towers) nonetheless an intriguing and valuable experience. I
was lucky enough to also experience the move to the temporary office and
had the chance to experience and tackle management issues like packing,
box labelling documents in priority order, seating each department,
adjustments etc.
Recommendations:
My internship experience at GroupM has been delightful in every aspect,
the task assigned to me have been of great learning value for me. crucial
specially for the career in HR I aim to pursue. The experience and
assignment will serve as a great source of learning. My recommendation to
the company would be:
 to delegate more tasks and assignments
 to give out specific assignments in synch with the main functions of
the department.
 To have a rotation generally with in the department so that the intern
can experience working with everyone of the department so that the
experience and learning is more diverse.
 Moreover, I would like to suggest a general rotation of the interns to
different department to grasp the diversity, work ethic and flavor of
other departments as well so they have a better understanding of the
organization work culture, business and clientele.
Future interest in the organization;
I would like to express gratitude for providing me with the opportunity
to experience this term of internship in the organization.
I would also like to express my interest in the position of a
Management Trainee or any other starting position in the Human
resource department here at GroupM. I hope this report serves you
and me well. Looking forward to a bright future with GroupM and
wishing this company a bright and prosperous future.
