DUSARAN Municipal Agriculiturist Dear Mayor Betita, Good day! ‘The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources through the Iloilo Provicial Fisheries Office will conduct an activity entitled , “Orientation of Fish Vendor, Fish Dealers and ‘Transporters on the Detection of Fish Caught through Explosives”. This program is in line with Rule 126.1 of the Implementing Rules and Regulation (IRR) of R.A 10654, which states: “The DA ~ BFAR shall train fish seller, fish dealer, transporter, importer or exporters on the detection of fish caught through the use of explosives. The training shall be mandatory. The activity specifically aims to educate fish vendors, fish dealers and transporters to identify fishes caught through explosives or violation of R.A. 8550, as ammended by R.A. 10654. The end goal is to eliminate illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing (IUUF) in the province of Iloilo In this connection, we would like to request your office, particularly the Municipal Agriculture Office to facilitate the invitation for at least FIFTY (50) participants to include fish vendors, fish dealers and transporters to participate in the said activity, as well as, to prepare and arrange venue for this activity.This orientation is schedule on August 3, 2018 in your municipality. Our BFAR provincial staff will coordinate with your office thru the Office of Municipal Agriculture for the details and other arrangement of the said activity.
