Past and present studies;

I am a science student. I have done my matriculation with science from a school with in my own village.
Then in intermediate (F.S.C) I chose biology as my subject because of my interest in biological sciences.

Then for graduation I chose environmental sciences for study the major reason that’s why I chose
environmental sciences is my love towards nature and I see that our environment is not in good
conditions because of pollution caused by anthropogenic activities. Environmental science is an
interdisciplinary science which integrates physical biological and information sciences for studying
environment. In this field I have taken various courses few of them are here Solid waste management,
Environmental Toxicology, Biodiversity and Conservation, Climate Change, Environmental Impact
Assessment, Natural Resource Management and Environment Pollution Control Technologies .All these
courses help me to understand the environment its problems and how to deals with them.

What was the trigger for having an interest in Japan?

The trigger for my interest in Japan are their unique qualities such as their way of showing respect to
other while meeting with other. Their punctuality I heard once the news of public apology by the railway
company because of delay in rail arrival for 25 seconds their hard work shows their loyalty to their work
Japanese to any extent to honor any task they undertaken. How Japanese cope with their problem from
Hiroshima Nagasaki attack to the recent earth quakes and other problems. Even this Hiroshima Nagasaki
attack incident is part of our syllabus in English subject just to learn from Japanese. The most wonderful
thing which I have learn about Japanese culture is that Japanese schools have no janitor because they
clean their school by themselves the student clean their school and its premises for about 30 minutes in
the day.

Why do you choose Japan as a destination to study graduate level education?

The major reason behind my choosing Japan as final destination for my master is ranking of Japanese
universities. The Japanese universities fall in world top 500 universities. The second reason behind
choosing Japan as a final destination is the Japanese work in my area of interest waste to energy.

The thing which wondered me most about Japan work in waste to energy is that Japan is working on it
since 1965 and where my country stands in this field is very alarming we have started our waste to
energy plant last year in Lahore initiated by Lahore waste management company.

What kinds of things do you think you can contribute to Japan and your home country through your
experience of studying in Japan?

First thing which I contribute to both Japan and my own country is that I act as cultural ambassador. I
will contribute in terms of improving cultural relations between Japan and Pakistan. Through my
learning experience in Japan I will contribute to the Japan in waste to energy sector. After returning to
home country I will try my best to help my country in energy crisis and also how to cope up with waste
management problems.
