Socratic Seminar: Share the your group output
1. Divie the class into Four groups. One member of each group will act as observers, while
the other mebers willl have to count off 1-2. All students who will be number 1 will in
the inner circle. All the student who will be number 2 will form the circle in the outer
circle.
2. Student in the inner circle will be given 5 minutes with accompanying questions for them
to dicuss. Each member must be given the chance to speakso the coach will have the
opportunity to hear his/her answers/views. For her/him to evaluate. After the
discussions, the group will have to agree on a common answer which they will report to
the coaches.
3. Those in the outer circle will serve as the coach and listen to the discussion of those in
the inner circle.
4. The etacher will just observe and take note of the naswers and the agreement that the
student they arrive at.
5. When feedbacking is done, another problem will be given but they will exchange places
and switch roles.
If time permits, the observers group will be given the chance to play also.
Rubrics for Scoring :
3- WELL EXPLAINED AND CORRECT
2- CORRECT BUT NO THROUGHLY EXPLAIN
1- ERRONEOUS ANSWER
0- NO ANSWER AT ALL.

Did you know that ?

Greek Mathematician Pythagoras who lived during the sixth century BC was the founder of
Pythagorean brotherhood. The group studied numbers of geometric arrangements of points
such as triangular numbers. Square numbers, and pentagonal numbers.
Illustrate quadratic equation Activity 3.
LPO3, PO3, EPO3 , M9AL-Ia-1 Onion Layer

1. Group yourselves into five members.

2. In a sheet of construction paper, there is an objective test item aligned to the
competency of assigned learning unit.
3. One paper will be place on top of another and crumple them together. An onion layer
ball will be formed.
4. Distribute one onion layer per group. Each group have each student take out the top
layer and read the questions for others to answer. After everyone answers. Group claps
if they got the correct answer.
5. Then passes the ball to the next untill all questions will be answered.

Questions to answer:

1. Write the factors of 6a:

2. Write the factors of 18ab:
3. The GCF of 6a and 18 ab
4. Factor completely 3x+6
5. Factor completely 15x2y3-33xy3
Illustrate quadratic equation ACTIVITY. 4
LPO3, PO3, EPO3 , M9AL-Ia-1 VOCABULARY AND CONCEPT

1. After multiplying, we have a(b+c) = ___________________

2. By factoring, we have ab+ac = ____________
3. The terem 4x3 i sthe GCF of a polynomial if _____________ is th greatest integer that
divides each of the coefficients of th epolynomial and _______ is the smallest exponent
of x in all terms of the polynomial.

4-5. How can factoring be useful in our daily life ?

llustrate quadratic equation Activity 5: Blockbuster

LPO3, PO3, EPO3 , M9AL-Ia-1 1. The game consist of 16 interlocking hexagons, arranged in four columns. Each hexagon
contains a letter of alphabet with corresponding quation about factoring monomials.
2. The group will be divided into two teams
3. The game begins with atoss up question
4. Each team chooses one letter and would be asked the given question
5. If the team is able to give the correct answer and or explanation, they will gain control of
the hexagon.and given the chanceto choose another one.
6. If the team’s answer is incorrect, the oher team will be given the chance to naswer
7. This will go until one team completes a vertical or horizontal conncetions of the
hexagons.
Processing. questions:
What were th eosme if the learning or properties you have learned before that were used in
the factoring of polynomials?

Howis factoring helpful in our daily life?
