THERMAL STRESS ANALYSIS OF CYLINDER

Ex No: 06 Date:

AIM:

To find the thermal stress and heat transfer analysis of cylinder using ANSYS Software.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTTON:

A Pipe carrying hot fluid with 200 mm internal diameter and 100 mm thickness is covered with
a layer of insulation of 80 mm thick. Thermal Conductivities of pipe and insulation are 40 W/mK
and 0.75 W/mK respectively. The outside heat transfer co- efficient is 50W/m2K. If the
temperature of inner surface of pipe is 573 K and the ambient temperature is 298 K. Find the
thermal and heat transfer analysis of the pipe.
