Chronology of CIN Acquisitions and Partnerships

1917 Founding of Companhia Industrial do Norte.

1926 Constitution of the CIN Industrial Corporation of the North, Lda.

1958 CIN takes the lead in industrial finishes.

1965 CIN takes the lead in anticorrosion.

1966 The new industrial unit is implemented in the city of Maia and appears as the
largest and most modern factory in Brazil.

1970 From the 70's the company has a strong growth in decorative paints;
Internationalization of CIN with creation of CIN Angola Inks.

1973 Continued internationalization process with the creation of Tintas Moçambique


SARL.

1985 Constitution of the CIN as a Corporation, taking over the name 'Corporação
Industrial do Norte, S.A'.

1988 Dispersion of the share capital and listing on the Lisbon Stock Exchange
1989 Acquisition of the Fábrica de Tintas Lacose Lda.

1990 Acquisition of Sotinco – Sociedade de Tintas de Construção Tinco, S.A


Implementation of the COLORMIX system.

Cin is part of Coatings Research Group Inc. (CRGI).

1994 Purchase of 47.36% of the capital of Barnices Valentine.

1995 Merger (by absorption in CIN, SA) of the companies Lacose paint factory, CIN
Associated paints, Princol and Sotinco Sociedade Fabril de Tintas de Construção Tinco,
SA.

1996 Creation of a new commercial company Lacose Sotinco, Tintas e Vernizes, Lda
Cross Pinturas Acquisition Company.
Reinforcement of the stake in Barnices Valentine (+ 11%).

1997 Holding of a Joint Venture with DISA Corporação Petrolífera SA creating DISA
Pinturas SA., with a 50% stake in the capital of this company.

1998 Implementation of the concept of DECOCENTER points of sale (Decoration


Centre) in its own stores and franchising system.

1999 Owner of 98% of V Barnices.


2000 Acquisition of 99.7% of NITIN Nova Indústria de Tintas SA.

2001 100% holding of DISA Pinturas SA.


Change of the corporate name of DISA Pinturas SA to Pinturas CIN Canárias SA.

2002 Share of 33.6 of the capital of ARTILIN SA, extended in 2003 to 42.6%.

2005 Acquires Ibercoat Tinta em Pó SA.

2006 CIN opens the largest paint shop in the Iberian Peninsula.
Purchase of the company Proteisa Produtos Industriais of Tenerife.
Creation of a new commercial company CIN Tintas para Repintura Automóvel, SA.

2007 Creation of a new commercial company Sotinco Refinish, SA.


Exit of the stock exchange of CIN Corporação Industrial do Norte, SA.
Acquisition of 2.61% of the capital of the Italian company Boartolomeo.
Change of the name of Ibercoat Tintas em Pó, SA, to CIN Industria, SA.
Merger by incorporation into CIN SA of the companies Tintas CIN Açores and
Tintas CIN Madeira.
CIN buys Industrial Finishing Division from Robbialac and Martolar SA.

ARTILIN 100% owner. Acquisition to 100% of the French company CELLIOSE, SA.
Acquisition of 100% of the company Painting Industries.

2010 Inauguration of the new Development and Research Center of CIN in Maia.

2012 Increase in the industrial capacity of Megadur, Powder Paint factory for the
industrial sector in Maia.

2013 Implementation of CIN Coatings México, with the purpose of intervening in the
sale and rendering of services in the anticorrosion area.

2014 Creation of CIN Coatings South Africa, with the aim of enhancing the brand in the
area of Protective Coatings.
Implementation of the company NAVIS, created by CIN and BBDouro, for offers of
solutions of paints for the nautical market.

2015 CIN advances to Turkey through the creation of the business unit CIN
COATINGS TURKEY, based in Istanbul.

2016 Acquisition of the French group MONOPAL, whose activity is focused on the
General Industry, Glass, Automobile, Industrial and Aeronautical.

CIN renews its Corporate Identity, CIN INDUSTRIA SA is now designated CIN
INDUSTRIAL COATINGS, SA and adopted the new corporate identity of the brand.
