What are some other important things to do /
remember for this exam?

What happens if I don’t attempt one of the 6 exam parts?

You must attempt all 6 exam parts in order for your exam to be considered complete.
Meaning, you must start all exam parts and attempt at least some questions.

What happens if I don’t answer all the questions in an exam part?

Should you find yourself in a situation where the countdown clock runs out of time and still
have a few questions left to answer, don’t worry. The exam system will submit what you
have answered and the exam part will be considered complete.

Is there a save button for the open-end exam part where I have to type a response?
There is no save button, the system saves automatically every 2 minutes in the
background. Should your time run out, the exam system will automatically submit
everything you have typed up-and-to that point.

UNITED NATIONS | DEPARTMENT OF OPERATIONAL SUPPORT 12

What are some other important things to do /
remember for this exam?

The countdown clock stresses me out. Is there something I can do?

Yes, clicking on the countdown clock hides it, you can click on it to unhide it.

What happens if I get someone to help me with the exam?

This would be against the exam rules and, if reported, you will be disqualified. There will
also be a subsequent proctored verification exam where you will take another exam
under invigilated conditions with your identity verified. If you can’t replicate your
performance you will be disqualified.

Can I take the exam at another date and time if I have a legitimate reason?
In short no, the exam date and time has been carefully coordinated with the Department of
Security Affairs and a number of other UN stakeholders. However, serving staff may take
their convocation letters to their managers and request that they be granted leave to
take the exam. This may include travelling to a suitable location to take the exam.
