Length of lesson:​ 1 hour for 3 days

Lesson Overview/Rationale:​ students will gather information about a situation they want to
change and can be solved through the development of a new or improved object or tool.

want to change to define a simple problem that can be solved through the development of a

Procedure :
● Teacher will show article on metal straws instead of plastic straws, data of the
percentage of use for each.
● Students will get into groups of 4
● Group will choose a problem
● Group will find solution
● One will make the poster( organize poster)
● One will Compare strengths and weaknesses
● One will analyze data
● One will make a picture or drawing of the solution to the problem of choice
● Students will present on day 3
