Course Description

• Introducing fundamentals of Management in Operations perspectives and extending


concept by focusing on Projects in Waterfall as well as Agile Scenarios
• Comprehending different associated knowledge streams of Business Analysis, Portfolio
Project Management, Program driven Value Delivery in perspective with the Operations
Management through Projectized initiatives
• ‘Plant Selection & Facility Layout’ related standard practices & trends
• Basic concepts of Productivity, Just-In-Time, Scheduling, Toyota Production System, Total
Quality Management, Capacity Planning, Operational Strategies, & Lean Manufacturing
• Internal dynamics of ‘Inventory Management’ while focusing at ‘Aggregate Planning’
• Inter-relating Master Production Schedule, Material Requirement Planning, Manufacturing
Resource Planning, Enterprise Resource Planning for intelligent decision making
• ‘Supply Chain Management’ for the whole Business chain from Lean as well as Agile
Supply Chain scenarios within Operations Management
• Understanding Le-gile Operations with focus on HR, Communication & Stakeholders
• Understanding ‘Safety, Environmental issues & criticality’ with respect to Operations

Learning Objectives
To equip business graduates with contemporary knowledge of latest trends & emerging challenges
of the Business World by understanding Operations’ co-ordination with Marketing & Finance through
Academics (Books) and also learning the best practices established by IIBA® Canada & PMI® USA in
consistent with local industrial norms by studying Case Studies & conducting Class Activities.
• To differentiate between Projects & Operations and to understand the importance of Productivity
• Knowing SCM, Inventory Management, Scheduling and Maintenance concepts along with JIT,
Lean & TPS for seamless Operations of Manufacturing as well as Services industries
• To develop Aggregate Planning constituents for effective Operations & to evolve AP to MPS to
MRP-1/2 to ERP-1/2
