CHAPTER V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS,

CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter focuses on the results of the given survey questionnaire that

the respondents answered. This part helps the researcher to find answers and

able to compare and contrast the researcher’s hypothesis and the actual answers

of the respondents. From these sources, the research study is effective and free

from bias.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

The primary objective of this research is to know if lack of textbooks

affects the academic performance of a student. From this study 63% agree that

textbook are an important tool in making research and other academic activities.

45% agreed that senior high library do not have enough textbook that can

accommodate students. 52% strongly agree about due to lack of references, the

allowance of a student will decrease to photocopy. 73% answered strongly agree

that the school should hire librarian. 55% answered strongly agree that due to

lack of references it can affect their academic performance. 37% agreed that

students can easily borrow books in senior high library. 40% agree that lack of

references encourage students to study in advance or make some note. 78%

answered yes that senior high library assigned teacher is approachable. 67%

answered yes that students cannot borrow mostly books from the library. 83%

from yes that the school administration should take action from this situation.

88% answered yes that books will be the primary source in making assignments.

Lastly, 97% answered that complete textbook will encourage students to read in

advance.

CONCLUSION

From the result of the survey conducted by the researcher, these are the

conclusions being drawn:

1. Textbooks are important in our life to answered assignments and

other academic purposes.

2. Providing individual textbook among senior high will be additional to

the tuition and the miscellaneous expenses will decrease.

3. The librarian is approachable but it is better to have librarian that is

non-advisory and no subject to handle.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The researcher aims for better result for the next surveys connected to the

focus study. These are the recommendations of the researcher:

1. The school administration school take action from this situation.

2. The library should be open during class hours.

3.The school administration should hire librarian.

For the TEACHERS

The researcher recommends giving time for students to read books to gain

knowledge and help develop their minds especially in giving assignments or

other activities related to academics.

For the STUDENTS

Lack of textbooks is not a hindrance for you not to study. You should be

motivated to study in advance so that your academic performance will not be

affected. If you are willing to achieved your goals you should work hard from it,

study hard and books are the main tool your can have.

For the FUTURE RESEARCHERS

To the future researchers you should give time and effort in doing

research paper, take it seriously. This study will help students to be guided on

how to write research paper. It will help a lot to the students who will be

conducting the same concept of the researcher topic.
