ABSTRACT

Automotive, Air-cond compressor, motorcycle, vacuum bottle, component have played

an important role in the advancement of civilization. . Thanks to modern technology and
science, strong and precise automotive, Air-cond compressor, motorcycle, vacuum bottle,
component for a multitude of uses are available today.

In this report, manufacturing of steel pipes are thoroughly explained. Processes

involved from the raw materials until delivery to consumers are all obtained from visiting a
fabrication producing company nearby to our study institutions which is the Zamria SDN
BHD. This reports contains all the necessary information about our site visit which is the
introduction of the company, the process of producing Automotive, Air-cond compressor,
motorcycle, vacuum bottle, component and the safety precautions at the factory.

OBJECTIVES

1. Exposing student to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being
taught in the classroom.
2. Enable student to identify their prospective areas of work in the overall organizational function
better.
3. To make student become more aware of industry practices and regulations.
4. To enhance student’s interpersonal skills and communication techniques.

5. Give student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of how industry operations are
executed.

DISTRIBUTION OF WORK

After we have done our industrial visit, we as a group have distributed each section
according to the requirements given by the lecturer for every member in completing our
industrial visit report. Danish is in charge of writing the abstract, reasons why should
choose the Automotive, Air-cond compressor, motorcycle, vacuum bottle, component
based on our visit. Next Haziq is in charge identifying the objectives of the visit ,writing the
introduction and the company’s profile, Danish is in charge of describing the
manufacturing processes involved in the visit and also make a conclusion. Lastly Imran
also is in charge of discussing the issues, implications, lesson and experience learned
during visit. Thus, we all have shown a great teamwork in making this industrial visit a
successful outdoor learning process.

INTRODUCTION

Industrial visit was carried out at Zamria Sdn. Bhd on 30th December 2018. The factory
located in Klang. This activity is for occupied the course MEM560 Manufacturing Process
syllabus. The focus for this activities is to give opportunity to student explore industrial in
manufacturing process activity and give extra knowledge during visit to industry also can
directly see how the process which is studied theoretically in class. Therefore, for make more
understand about definition of manufacturing process. Manufacturing process is the
application of physical and chemical processes to make parts and products by altering raw
material based on its geometry, properties and appearance. Manufacturing can also be defined
as the conversion process of raw material into products which conform to design specification
or the transformation of materials and information into goods for the satisfaction of human
needs. To make more clear this course complete with industrial visit activity.

Industrial visit has its own importance in a career of a student who is pursuing a
professional degree. It is considered as a part of course curriculum, mainly seen in
manufacturing process courses. The main objectives of industrial visit are to provide an insight
regarding internal working of companies. We know, theoretical knowledge is not enough for
making a good professional career. With an aim to go beyond academics, industrial visit
provides a practical perspective on the world of work. It provides an opportunity to learn
practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. It gives exposure
to current work practices as opposed to possibly theoretical knowledge being taught at
university.

This activity also improve our skill to deal with people when we need to inform and
asking for industrial visit by proper flow starting from choose company that we are target to
visit. We need to follow the procedure properly to make the process smooth and easy to deal
with person in charge at the company. This process also needs permission from faculty, this is
important because it is involving name of university. This process we are studied how to make
the decision and how to settle when need to dealing with people. This involvement is practicing
self-confident in working life after graduate.

Zamria operates in four segments: design mould and die, cuting , bending and
measurement using coordianate measurement machine . The component manufacturing
segment is in the business of manufacturing and trading of automotive, air-cond compressor,
motorcycle, vacuum bottle, component and provision of engineering services. Main activities
are management of companies and enterprises,small component manufacture, and heat
treatment .

This company produces variety of automotive, air-cond compressor, motorcycle,

vacuum bottle, component . The production is not only limited to local industry but other
country outside from Malaysia often asks for their help to produce automotive, air-cond
compressor, motorcycle, vacuum bottle, component. Therefore, Zamria company also supplier
to small industries in engineering product.

An engineers from Melewar Company, Mr. Ong Tee Gee lead us to go around the
factory to see all the process. Before we go some briefing about the company is given to make
us clearer before we go explore in their factory.
