PERSONAL STATEMENT
 Tell me about yourself and what do you hope to gain from yseali program. How is
the fellowship relevant to your

I am really cooperative person and I am able to work in a team. Within volunteer works
that participate in organization and university make me really like to work with people.

I am a last year university student in National University of East Timor (UNTL),

department of Civil Engineering.

During my participation in YSEALI academic program, within its activities and courses
will provide me several lessons such as; I will gain personally self confident, how to be
an independent person, how to build a good design project for social needs, learn how
to lead a group, have a innovative mindset and learn American culture as well as
southeast Asian countries.

In the last month of 2020, I am going to write my final monograph project. I think in this
fellowship program can help me to build new ideas to form my final monograph that can
respond to social needs. In the YSEALI program also will help me for being independent
after I graduated from my university, in order not to dependent on government or others
institution to employ me but, I can afford my on job based on skill that I have and
possibly can employ other people.

 I will have the greatest positive impact for the community that I belong to. I have
a plan to solve the problems that they are currently facing like in my community
they have the great challenge to sell their products like rice and Candlenut
because of distance between their home and national market, unpermitted
condition of the road and the dissatisfaction of the product prices in a local
market.
I will bring the market close to the community by buying their products at the
place where they live after that I can sell in urban area.

• I am going to start my business plan in my small village and I will called it

“Povu Kuda Ha’u sosa”. In this project I am going to buy local farmers’ products
such as rice and Candlenut in their residence for the reason they don’t need to
transport their products to a national market. I will be in partnership with national
company called ACELDA to buy those products and I am also going to sell rice
to supermarkets, Restaurants, hotels and people who live in urban area. This
project is going to contribute to enhance the local farmers’ economy and can
decrease the consumption of import products like rice. If this project is going
well, subsequently I going to create other plan like improving water supply to
farmers’ rice fields aim to create other integrated agriculture system.
