SUSTAINABLE INSTURMENTS

According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the average Australian creates just over 2,000kgs of
waste each year.

There are so many items that we use once and throw away. The wrapper you used for lunch, the toy you
bought last year and don’t want any more or the shoes that don’t fit anymore. If you get rid of these items
they usually end up in landfills. This is not good for our climate!
“Waste is everything that no longer has a use or purpose and needs to be disposed of.” This doesn’t always
have to be true….

How will you save our planet? (Brief)

Each student uses a lot of single use

materials at home. Reusing old materials
helps to save our environments as there
is less waste going into landfills. In order
to reuse these old materials, students

Sustainable Development Goal
Students have been learning about Musical Instrument Ideas
the Sustainable Development Goals
this term. The Goal that we will be
focusing on throughout this design
brief is goal 13, Climate Action.
Through making instruments from
recycled materials we are reducing
waste and therefore taking climate
action.
Project Specifications:

1. The instrument must make a

to play their instrument

must use at least 2 recycled
materials to make their
