PAST: NATIONAL PASTORS’ CONVENTION IN COLOMBIA

From October 8th to the 11th, the Worldwide Missionary Movement Church in Colombia celebrated in
victory at the National Pastors’ Convention. This event was held in the city of Bogotá. Part of the
International Board Members attended this great event. God glorified Himself in the midst of His
servants. It is known that in these events the presence of God is manifested and the people of God
are strengthened. This year's theme was "Standing Firm, Covered in His Glory." Rev. Alberto Ortega
and Rev. Humberto Henao, International Board Members of the WMM, attended this convention
center that had become the house of God and gate of heaven. They were accompanied by Rev. Aris
Solís, National Superintendent in Colombia, and other Colombian pastors. This country is blessed by
magnifying the name of the Lord. The songs of praise and adoration prepared the services so that
the glory of God descended. In one of the services, the one in charge of preaching the Word of God
was Reverend Alberto Ortega. He spoke under the theme “Ministry Has Privileges, but No Benefits”
taking as reference the book of Exodus 33: 9-11. He explained that God's ministry is by calling and
because of that, God will always do what He has to do. The privilege of being used by God has no
counterpart of benefits. And he gave the example of Moses, who was used by God, but who never
asked for benefits because he was called to serve. In another service, Rev. Aris Solis was the
preacher and used the book of 2 Corinthians 1: 3-7 to speak under the theme “Comfort in Time of
Affliction.” He stated that the enemy wants the Christian to weaken because He knows how easy it is
to kill a weakened person. That is why God is the best comfort when we are in affliction or distress;
He is the strength to move forward. WIIR rejoices with each one of these events. In this Pastors’
Convention, the presence of God was felt, touching the lives of many and all the attendees were
restored.

PROGRESS: YOUNG PEOPLE IN SPAIN REAFFIRMED THEIR FAITH.

On October the 12th, the WMM Church in Valencia - Spain held their water baptism ceremony. The
churches of this zone gathered with their respective pastors to participate in this great activity. Some
of their relatives also participated to support them in this decision, and that was how 4 young men
were baptized in victory in the province of Valencia. There were about 50 attendees. They decided to
take this step of faith, dying to the world and living for Christ. Reverend Ovidio Romero, Presbyter of
the zone three, had the responsibility of sharing the message that God had for them in this victorious
day. It was based on the book of Acts 2:36-39. On this occasion, the preacher shared with them
about how important baptism is, because it is manifested publicly that they are new creatures in
Christ, and it must be reflected anywhere they go. In the same way, he emphasized that it is
necessary to see the great privilege that Christians have of being called by the Lord to His admirable
light in the midst of a society that each day is on decline. He also stressed that from now on they
have the mission to continue spreading the Gospel to every creature so they also receive salvation.
God is doing great things in the youth, who are being touched by His restoring power. WIIR, rejoices
with this baptism and invites you to pray for the lives of these four young men so that God gives
them of His strength in the moment of trial.

BEGINNING OF SORROWS:

India: Young Christian Woman Killed by Neighbors

According to VOM A young woman from Jharkhand state, in eastern India, was attacked and killed by
neighbors in front of her home recently as her husband and 3-year-old daughter watched in horror.
Qacha married her husband, Naadir,, and they both became Christians. The family was preparing to
have dinner when Naadir’s father came to the door and began arguing with Qacha. When he began
to beat her with a stick, Naadir and his younger brother intervened. In the ensuing scuffle, Naadir’s
brother struck his father with an axe. At that point, a group of neighbors drinking nearby joined the
fight, beating Qacha to death as Naadir and his daughter watched from behind some bushes.
Afterward, the men chanted, “Whoever will do ‘hallelujah’ [a reference to Christians] will have the
same consequences!”.

Indonesia: Two Christian Men Released from Prison

VOM News reported that two elderly Christian men who were imprisoned for distributing gospel
tracts on the island of Sumatra have been released. Andreas Sarno and Bintang Sirait were
sentenced to eight months in prison for distributing several copies of a booklet about Jesus Christ in
a Muslim-majority region near their home in Jambi City. Andreas has distributed Christian literature
regularly since his partial retirement. Praise God for these men’s release and for their desire to share
Christ with their Muslim neighbors.
