Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Bubbl.us is a useful organizational tool. It visually distinctive bubbles,
easy interface, and its accessibility make it a great tool to use in any classroom. It would be a great tool for
students who have fine motor challenges and cannot write so well. Giving them this tool will help them stay
neat and organized. This tool could help visual learners identify the different characteristics of the different
types of rocks.
Lesson idea implementation: Now that the students are working on their digital projects on the types of
rocks. The teacher can do a small group session for the students who need more of an individualized
approach. A student may need a more individualized approach if they are an ELL, a student with special
needs, or indicated that they needed help. In the small group session, the teacher will create a model
Bubbl.us and start to talk about the different types of rocks. The students in the small group will begin to
research and create their own Bubbl.us to help them grasp the content. This should not take more than 10
minutes. The students will be assessed on the information that they have on their Bubbl.us. Then the
students will use this concept map to go into their groups to help with the digital project.

The teacher would print the maps out and give them to the students who made them. These maps will be a
good reference for these students to look back on. Before printing them, the teacher will review them and
make sure the information is correct. If an error is noticed, the teacher will call the student over and they will
go over the misunderstanding. The small group lesson will continue throughout the week as the teacher
meets with every group to create a Bubbl.us.

Reflective Practice: After creating the lesson idea I feel the activity would really benefit my students who
need a more individualized approach. While writing it I figured that I could keep the small group lesson going
and have each group come to the teacher and create a concept map. This would give the teacher a good
understanding of where all their students are. This tool could be used to help amplify their digital project they
are creating.
