Description

In the end of semester exam, I took five exams. I did good in Economics, Business and
Statistics with two AAs and one A. But My Global Perspective and Physics were relatively
poor with two dangerous Bs that could be C, especially Physics. During the preparation of the
exam, I spent most time with Statistics, Business and Physics. However, most of the review
was done the day before the exam.

2. feeling

I feel generally confident with Economics, Statistics both before and after the exam. For
Business, since I feel less nervous as there are some topic that I was totally unfamiliar with.
However, after seeing the exam paper, I soon relieved due to the easiness of the paper. As for
GP, I feel a bit sleepy during the exam, wanting to finish the exam in order to get some sleep.
Therefore, I am uncertain of the result after finishing the paper. As for physics, I feel sorry to all
of my physics teacher since primary school due to the poor understanding of physics.

3. Evaluation

The strategy I took for the revision was generally wise, which is allocating less time for the
courses that I could nail in the exam, and spending more time on the courses that are less
certain about the results. Despite the strategy, the amount of time I wasted before the exam
week was a big mistake. I basically did most of my revision within the exam week, meaning
not covering all the topics, especially Physics and Business.

4. Analysis

Th reason for the bad result in Physics was mainly due to the little attention that I paid in the
Physics classes, as well as in the everyday practice. And I also missed a two week of physics
classes of electric and nuclear physics which are the topic that I was not familiar with. And
after missing the classes, I did not spend enough time to self-learn the topics, resulting in the
hard time I have during the revision and the exam. As for the Business, to be honest, I did not
study very hard in last semester, not spending much time after the class to memorise the
analytical points. Fortunately, the end of semester exam was calculation based. And the range
is also relatively narrow. Therefore, the results of the exam was satisfying for me. However, I
know that the results are mostly luck. For GP, I think I underestimate the exam, thinking that I
do not have prepare for the exam. Therefore, at the exam, I missed some points to mention
about under the sleepy condition, and also some silly mistakes. As for the exams that I did
well in, these are the exam that I spend most of the time after class, especially economics
which has most homework. Therefore, the revision of these classes is not that important as I
could still do well with the knowledge accumulated during the semester.

5. Conclusion

The experience with the end of semester exam reminds that the my everyday study makes a
way more significant difference than the short-time revision. And the long-time laziness
generated from the lack of homework stops me from trying to do more selfstudy, particularly
those courses that I do not like. This means that I should allocate more time to those hard
courses even if they may have less homework.

6. Action plan

I should spend more time with the basic knowledge of some of the chapters of physics before
starting to do PPQs. And I also need to pay attention to the revision classes of all courses as I
may not have enough time and motivation to revise after the classes. Moreover, even if I did
well in economics and business, I still have to practice often to keep the feeling of writing
academic essays. However, the priority should be physics.
