Lesson Plan in English 8

I. Objectives:

a. Classify sentences according to their uses.

b. construct declarative, interrogative, imperative and exclamatorysentences.

c. show teamwork and cooperation through participating in a group activity.

II. Subject Matter:

Topic: Different types of Sentences According to Structure

III. Procedure:

A. Motivation:

* The teacher will have a group activity. She will divide the students into 4 ; each.
group will be given pieces of paper with words written on them. They will be asked to arrange the words
in order to make a sentence.

They will come up with the following sentence:

1. Oh no! The effects of drugs to us.

2. Narcotics are druga which relieve pain and induce sleepiness.

3. Do severe penalties for drugs will stop people from using drugs?

4. Please stop using prohibited drugs.

B. Presentation:

* The teacher wil ask the students what have they notice about the sentences.

C. Discussiin:

* The teacher will discuss the 4 types of Sentences According to Stucture.

D. Analysis:

* The teacher will show a pictures on the board and she will let her students make
sentences axcording to structure.

E. Generalization:

* The teacher will summarize the 4 types of sentences according to structure.


F. Application:

* The teacher will group the students. The same group they have. The teacher will give
each group a situation and they will make a short presentation, making sure all the types of sentences.

Group 1: War on drugs

Group 2 : You and your friends are being tempted to use illegal drugs.

Group 3: You are lost when you see a group of friends using drugs.

Group 4: President Duterte visited your community.

G. Evaluation:

* The teacher will let the students answer the folowing questions.

Direction. Read each sentence carefully and identify their function. Write DC if it is declarative, INC if it is
interrogative, IMC id it is imperative, and EC if it is exclamatory.

1. Samar island is known for its beautiful caves and waterfalls.

2. Did the organization approve her proposal?

3. Isn't her voice magnificent!

4. It's a baby boy!

5. Call the insurance agent, please.

6. Watch out for that car!

7. What harm did the delay cause?

8. Most people do enjoy taking risk.

9. Is there anything else that can I get you?

10. Keep off the grass.

H. Assignment:

* The students will write a short narrative about their most unforgettable experience.
Use at least 4 declarative, 4 interrogative, 4 imperative, and 4 exclamatory.
