Type of lesson: Revision- the adjective, degrees of comparison

Lesson aims: By the end of the lesson students will have remembered the rules of forming the
comparative and the superlative in adjectives and have been able to use them in appropriate contexts
Materials notebooks, laptop, textbooks

Assumptions: Students will remember the rules of forming the comparative and the superlatives of
adjectives. Students must be motivated to express personal opinions and ask questions.

Anticipated Problems: The use of mother tongue in workgroup, lack of imagination, some difficulties in
expressing orally.

ACTIVITY 1: Warm up
Aims: -to introduce students into the topic;
- to revise the comparative and the superlative

 the teacher writes sentences on the
board to exemplify the comparative and
the superlative of short respectively long Frontal, whole class 5 min
adjectives and asks the students to write
the rules .
ACTIVITY 2: Game
Aims:
 to practice the comparative and the superlative

 1st stage: the teacher writes 6 adjectives on the Group work
board: high, tall, small, dangerous, long,
intelligent and asks students to write general
knowledge questions using the given adjectives 40 min
in comparative and superlative. Students have
10 min to fulfill the task

 2nd stage: one group at a time reads their Group work, whole class
questions. The group that gives the correct activity
answer or corrects the possible mistakes wins
points.

ACTIVITY 3 Consolidation
Aims: - students will have been able to remember the rules of forming the comparative and the
superlative in adjectives
- Students will have been able to use the comparative and the superlative in appropriate contexts

 Revise the rules of forming the comparative
and superlative of adjectives. Frontal, whole class 5 min
activity

Homework: students will write a short composition comparing two most important objects they
couldn’t live without.
