SELAMS FRESHMAN ORIENTATION AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY

V/O: Please settle down. The program will start in 3 minutes.

V/O: Please let us all stand for the doxology, which to be immediately
followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, and a
prayer for the family by Sister Minerva Humawid.

Both: Good afternoon, everyone!

Shr: Good afternoon, Alondra!

Alo: Good afternoon, too, Shrael! You know partner, I feel so happy today,

because really, time flies so fast. Do you still remember? Few months

ago, we were also standing here hosting the first ever SELAMS

Recognition we had since we entered college.

Shr: Yes, partner! And look, we’re now on our second year! But not just

that, because another reason to be happier, is the fact that we are

also welcoming 116 SELAMS freshmen for this school year.

Alo: Wow! That is such a great news. That’s why today, we are all gathered

here to celebrate our another takeoff for our new journey.

Shr: passengers, welcome to the SCHOOL OF EDUCATION,

Alo: LIBERAL ARTS,

Shr: MUSIC,

Alo: SOCIAL WORK,

Both: FRESHMAN ORIENTATION, AND GENERAL ASSEMBLY,

HASHTAG ROAD TO RECOGNITION AND ACHIEVEMENT!

Shr: Our first speaker for today is a very well known captain of SELAMS.

She is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Magna Cum

Laude here in Centro Escolar University. She is also a graduate of

Master of Arts in Psychology with highest academic distinction and

Doctor of Philosophy major in Educational Management with

Excellence in Research award, once again, here in Centro Escolar

University.

Alo: But not just that, because this true blooded escolarian, also finished

Master of Arts in Special Education – Early Childhood in St. Joseph’s

College. Ladies and gentlemen, The CEU Centennial Teacher of the

year 2007

Shr:. and the Philippine's Educational Leadership Awardee for 2019, let us

welcome

Both:. the Dean of SELAMS. Dr. Maria Rita D. Lucas!

Alo:. Calling all the faculty members to please come up on stage for the

Alo: John C. Maxwell once said, A LEADER IS ONE WHO KNOWS THE

WAY, GOES THE WAY, AND SHOWS THE WAY.

Ladies and gentlemen, let us meet the student leaders of SELAMS

through the presentation of officers to be led by SELAMS

COMELEC Representative, MISTER RICHMOND QUEVEDO.

Shr: At this juncture, we are now about to witness and hear the pledges

of support of the different groups of the University.

Starting with the administration, let us welcome back on stage, the

Assistant to the Vice President for Business Affairs, MISTER JERICHO

P. ORLINA.

Alo: Thank you, Mister Orlina. Now, to lead the pledge of support of the

faculty, let us have on stage, MISTER RICHARD M. RILLO of the

Languages Department.

Shr: Thank you, Mister Rillo. Now, to give her pledge of support on behalf

of all our parents, for the first time on this stage, let us welcome,

MISIS NORMA B. DEL ROSARIO.

Alo: Thank you, Mrs. Del Rosario. Now, to give the pledge of support of

Shr: at this juncture, may I call once again MISS JOSLENE PAULA OBLEA

and MISS PAMELA CORPUZ on the center stage to lead the lanyard

ceremony.

Alo: All freshmen and sophomores, please form a line on the isle, may we

request all freshman to face their seniors to receive your lanyards

from your ate’s and kuya’s. This act symbolizes our warm welcome

for having all of you as our new family members.

Shr: Thank you freshmen and sophomores. You may now be seated.

At this moment, we are about to witness an intermission number

from one of our sophomores and one of our freshmen. To serenade

us this afternoon, let us welcome, MISS SHAIRA DEL ROSARIO AND

MISTER ANDRE DIONALDO.

Alo: It is always a struggle of every freshman to familiarize himself with

his new environment. That’s why SELAMS decided to invite people

who will enlighten our freshmen about the University services they

may avail for being a part of Centro Escolar.

Shr: but before that, we would like to inform everyone that after each talk,

we will have an ice breaker in a form of a raffle. So please, listen

carefully and have the chance to win amazing prizes.

Alo: That’s right, partner. Now, to help us know more about the Students

affairs concerns, let us have on stage, the Assistant to the Vice

President for International Students Services, DOCTOR LANI E.

University services. Now, it is time for the SELAMS Student Council

welcome, the SELAMS SC secretary, MISS SHAIRA DEL ROSARIO

together with SELAMS SC treasurer, MISS KAYRA HENERATO.

- OPEN FORUM / ENERGIZER -

Shr: In every new journey that is about to start, planning ahead of time is

always a must. So, before we officially start taking off, let us witness

the Presentation of Action Plan by the Vice President of SELAMS

Student Council, MISS MARILYN PRING.

Alo: thank you, Miss Pring.

Aside from planning, having a goal in every journey is also a must.

Because this helps a person choose the right way and path towards

his desired destination.

Shr: To motivate us to successfully reach our goals for the road to

recognition and achievement, let us hear some pieces of advice from

the SELAMS Student Council Officers starting with MISS SHAIRA

DEL ROSARIO and MISS KAYRA JOICE HENERATO followed by the

SELAMS SC AUDITOR, MISTER ALDWYNN ANCHETA and SELAMS

SC PRO, MISS MONIQUE CORO.

Alo: last school year, during the recognition day, I remember this person

gave a really really heartfelt message that made the audience cry.

Now, she’s back with us to give not just another inspirational

message but now, to also pass the key of responsibility. Let us

welcome back, the former president of SELAMS Student council
