CASE STUDY

Name : Romeo E. Orellada Jr.

Section : English 2D

Topic : Status of Education in the Community

I. OBJECTIVES

 This study aims to make the people aware from various problems in a

community education

 It aims to discover the impact of community in helping education

 It aims to know the education capability of community

II. INTRODUCTION

Communities can play a variety of roles in the provision and management of

education and learning processes. Community participation can contribute to

promoting education. Community participation is a concept that attempts to bring

different stakeholders together for problem solving and decision making. Community

participation is considered necessary to get community support for educational

planning and development. Community plays an important part in education system.

Students, teachers, and parents agree that community support is vital to the success of

schools and individual students. Many students were encouraged by individual

community members, but at the same time felt let down by their elected community

leaders.

Furthermore communities can help by supporting their children not just each parent’s

individual child, but the children of every parent in the whole community. It’s too often

that communities are divided amongst themselves, thus setting the children against

each other by the examples of their parents. But if the community truly comes together

and helps each other than the students benefit by knowing that they have the love and

support of everyone around them. And that makes us feel like the weight of the world

isn’t on just us anymore, but shared by all who care.

Community participation in school management has great potentials for removing

mistrust and distance between people and schools by nurturing transparency of

information and a culture of mutual respect and by jointly pursuing improvement of

school by sharing vision, process, and results. Individual and organizational behavioral

changes are critical to increase the level of participation. In countries where the

administrative structures are weak, the bottom-up approach to expanding educational

opportunity and quality learning may be the only option.

Nevertheless, when community participation is implemented with a top-down manner

without wider consultation on its aims, processes, and expected results, the

consequences are likely to be conflicts between actors, a strong sense of overwhelming

obligation, fatigue, inertia, and disparity in the degree and results of community

participation between communities. Political aspects of school management and socio-

cultural difference among the population require caution, as they are likely to induce

partial participation or nonparticipation of the community at large. Community

participation in school management will result in a long-term impact only if it involves a

wide range of actors who can discuss and practice the possibilities of revisiting the

definition of community and the way it should be.

III. Significance of the Study

The importance of this study is that every one of us becomes

knowledgeable about the youth who is not lucky to attend a formal school

because of many problems. this study can also help the people to realize the

importance of having good education and it also for the government to make a solution

in order for the youth to have a better education.

IV. RECOMMENDATIONS

Hoping that the future researchers will make this study’s scope bigger

and search more about the problem in community that will be taken and

gathered about the said topic will become many and also should seek more

resources. That would be a great help to resolve some of the problem facing

in a community.
