Introduction:

Gresham‘s is one of the creative, technically excellent industry that was established in 1947. The main
branches are located in S.I.T.E Karachi,Sindh,Pakistan. The 71 year history of Gresham’s provide a diverse
range of capabilities across the energy, resources, utilities and infrastructure sectors.

About 71 years is long time to be in business, they are manufacturing their products according to the
ASME standards. They are producing products like fire water tube boiler plant, package heat removal
water tube boiler plant, storage water heater , steam generators, smoke tube and thermal oil boiler.
Also we observe many kinds of welding such as arc welding ,carbondioxide welding and argon welding
.Radial drill machines also there where the drill machine are create a hole . for immaculate performance
various test are performed which are generally non-destructive such as Die penetration test and
Radiography test.

Horizontal fire tube boiler

features
• High Efficiencies • High Mass Pressure Vessel and High Water Content • Corrugated Furnace •
Wetback Design and Low Skin Losses • Large Steam Disengagement Area • Seamless Heavy Walled
Tubing • All Hand Welded Assembly • Three Year PV Warranty • Low Emissions Available

Applications
Fulton horizontal firetube boilers are used in a variety of applications throughout many industries. Large
scale laundry applications rely on Fulton horizontal boilers every day to provide a steady supply of steam
for ironers, presses and steam injection for washers and tunnels. Large building heating, food
processing, plastic processing and chemical processing as well as pharmaceutical and bio-fuel
production are only a few of the many existing applications using Fulton horizontal firetube boilers.
MATERIALS
ER-70:
Use for joints between tubes.

Application
Type ER70S-2 is a triple deoxidized steel welding wire for tig and mig welding applications.
For Mig welding use Carbon Dioxide or Argon + Co2 or Argon + 2% Oxygen as shielding gases.

FA-106:
ASTM A106 Grade B is a mild steel pipe material commonly used in industrial plants, power plants,
refineries and chemical plants which is typically seamless and comes in three grades A, B, and C with
grade B being the most commonly used grade.

SA-516:
ASTM A 516 or ASME SA 516 grade is one of the most popular steel grades in market .
It is primarily intended for use in welded pressure vessels where notch toughness is important. It comes
in four grades 55, 60, 65 & 70. At Oakley Steel we mainly sell 516 gr 60 and 516 gr 70. These grades
cover a range of tensile strengths from 55 - 90 MPa and this versatility explains much of the
specifications popularity.

For plates thinner than 40mm we normally supply them as rolled. Plates supplied above 40mm thick are
normalised.

Chemical composition:

Carbon 0.27 - 0.31%

Manganese 0.79 - 1.3%
Phosphorous 0.035% max
Sulphur 0.035% max
Silicon 0.13 - 0.45%

CARBON-DIOXIDE WELDING:

It is the type of Gas Metal Arc welding .It is also called MIG (Metal Inert Gas Welding). In this the
consumable bare metal wire as electrode is used with shielding by flooding arc with a gas. The wire is
continuously fed from a spool through the welding gun .Arc is maintained between work-piece and bare
wire electrode.CO2 is used here as an inert gas so there is no need of volatilizing flux.

APPLICATIONS:

This is only preferable for low carbon steel welding because CO2 yields lowest temperatures and shallow
penetrations and reduce weld spatter.

ARGON GAS WELDING:

It is also the type of Gas Metal Arc welding.

APPLICATIONS:

This is only preferable for aluminum-alloys and stainless steel welding. Argon produces the medium arc
and medium penetration.

ADVANTAGES OF ARGON AND CO2 WELDING:

 Higher deposition rates.

 Eliminates problem of slag removal.
 No frequent change of electrode.
