Operation Card for BA-88A Semi-auto Chemistry Analyzer

1 Powering On
Place the power switch at the back of the analyzer to On. Turn on the printer (if it is external printer).
Aspirate DI water as directed by the message on the screen. After initialization and self-check, the
main screen is displayed.

2 Main Screen

of calculation and off-system test.

Test Select test to run calibration, QC and sample test. During test, reaction curve will
be displayed in real-time. Test result on-line printing is supported.

Result Add, modify or delete patient information. View test results. Modify test results.
Print comprehensive report. Support uploading result to data management
software.

Maintenance View the capacity of the database and delete the data in the database. View log.
Adjust photoelectric gain. Calibrate the peristaltic pump.

QC View QC result and QC graph of the test. Support uploading QC result to data
management software.

Calibration View calibration parameters and calibration curve of the test. Enable modifying
calibration parameters of linear calibration.

Setup Set hospital name. Set date and time. Enter dictionary. Calibrate touchscreen. Set
printer. Set LIS.

Shutdown Execute shutdown procedure and save data.

3 Setup
If this is the first time the analyzer being used you must complete all the following settings:Set the
hospital name, adjust date and time in Basic; select internal printer or external printer in Print
Features; add the name of sender, tester, unit, and department in Dictionary; set the carryover if
necessary; if you need to upload the data to data management software, set the index No. for each
parameter in LIS setup.

4 Parameters

27 default tests are permanently on the system and can not be deleted, but you can modify their
parameters.

If you are to add a new test, please do as follows:

9 Click Parameter-Add-Basic and enter test information, including test name, reaction type,
wavelength, temperature, aspiration volume, reaction direction, unit and decimal.

9 Enter reference range, ABS range of reagent blank, linear range, linear limit, ABS limit in
Restriction.

1
9 Enter calibration rule, number of calibrators, set point of each calibrator in Cal details.

9 Enter K factor directly if K factor is selected.

9 Enter the lot No., concentration and SD, select QC rule in QC Information.
5 Test

1. Prepare the samples, calibrators and reagents.

2. Prepare proper amount of reagent according the number of the samples.

Dispense sample or calibrator or control into the tube. Incubate the tube in a water bath
tank or external incubator for a while. Take the tube out to prepare it for analysis.

3. Click Test on the main screen to enter the test screen. Select the name of the test to be
run.

4. Click Water Blank, put the inlet tube into the distilled water, and click Aspirate.

5. Click Reagent Blank, put the inlet tube into the reagent blank, and click Aspirate (if
reagent blank is not set, skip this step).

6. Select Calibrate and select calibrator in the drop down list box of S1-S8.
Put the inlet tube into the calibrator to be tested and click Aspirate (if K
factor is selected, skip this step).

7. Select Sample ID and click Sample Blank. Put the inlet tube into the sample blank and
click Aspirate. You can determine whether it is necessary to run sample blank.
Hemolysis, icterus or lipemia in the samples may lead to unreliable test results, so a
sample blank is recommended. Sample blank is only fit for endpoint analysis.

8. Select Sample ID and click Sample. Put the inlet tube into the sample and click Aspirate.
Repeat this to test other samples.

9. The above procedures also apply for QC test.

10. After test is completed and before running another test, put the inlet tube into the distilled
and click Wash.

‹ Note: When you run fixed-time and Kinetics analysis, the test should be started immediately
after sample is dispensed, so the next sample can only be run when the test of the previous
sample is completed.

6 Results
9 Click Result-Add and enter the patient name, sample ID, age, gender, MRN; select the
department, sender and tester. Click OK to save it.

9 Click Add or Edit to add new test result or edit test result.

9 Select one or more test results in Result and click Print to print the comprehensive report.

7 Shutdown
Click Shutdown, after the system has saved test information, patient information, test result and etc,
Place the power switch at the back of the analyzer to OFF. Turn off the printer.
