Family of Eloisa Magdua lives there since 1960. From the time her great grandmother lived there, it
became their legal property until present. Now, with her own family living also there, they became also an
offical residence of the said hometown.

For the ideal budget allowance of the Filipino family with their members, According to Sen. Sherwin
Gatchalian, he said it was clear that no family of five could possibly survive on P10,000 a month. In their case,
the father earns 14,000 a month that they budget for basic necessities such as for food, bill payments, and for
recreation purposes good for their family every month. They both manage to estimate their money needed for
every month’s essentials.

The highest Educational Attainment of Gerbie was 1st year College as an HRM student while Eloisa
was a High school completer together with their two children who’s the eldest, Greo, was already completed
Nursery. According to Nelson Mandela, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change
the world.”, but not only for the world but especially with their own family to provide a better and healthy life.

The role of Gerbie as the father is working hard to make money to supply the needs of the family,
Eloisa as the mother is taking care of her two children with another one in her tummy and their two children
provides happiness for them both. Their family has no relation or participation to a larger community and such
activities.

C. HOME AND ENVIRONMENT

1. Housing

Family Magdua-Duterte’s house, together with other two families, is a two-storey house made up of
wood with a narrow spacein which their living room is full of their things also the dining and kitchen area
that’s why the adequacy of their living space is limited. It is composed of three bedrooms that’s why the
adequacy of their living space is limited in which their relatives occupied the two rooms and the other one is
for their own family and lying down together when sleeping.
 There are too many sites that insects may breed like those dishes that haven’t washed every single time,
cabinets that are open for any insects or vectors to live in, and their messy stuffs that aren’t fixed for a long
period of time.

There are also accident prone area in their house that may cause every member of the family like their
stairs with no rails, their electric fan without cover that is dangerous to all the children in their house, broken
ceiling and also their things that might fall.

For their food, as said by Eloisa there are no left overs after every meal because they have no food
storage. We also observed that there’s only one gas stove forn the whole family living there and for the supply
of water that they use for bathing, washing and even for drinking purposes is fetched from the source of
Maynilad water system.

Their toilet is a Pour flush type using dipper but is divided into a comfort room and bathroom. It is
located at the front of their house that’s why it can be prone also to be contaminated because of the canal
beside it in which it’s their drainage system. The garbage is collected everyday but they have no idea on how to
segregate it.

2. Kind of neighborhood

The kind of neighborhood they have has a very poor sanitation in which contaminated canals are just in
front of their house, the foul odors coming from the canals and dog poops scattered outside their house, and the
tight or narrow street that they walk through every single time.

Wet and Dry Market Applicable for their daily needs for foods and
such.
Basketball Court Is not only to serve a form of recreation, but also
it can be an events place for outreach, and medical
purposes that may help the community.
Hospital, Health Center, Lying-in Clinics Place to go incase of emergency.
Church They are within reach by the church that
they go through every Sunday.
Barangay Hall Serves as the primary planning and implementing
unit of government policies, plans, programs,
projects, and activities in the community.
Fishport Supplies the market with fresh fish that the family
is is purchasing.
Funeral For the death of loved ones.
4. Communication and Transportation available

The communication that their family use is by means of cellular phones in which they use it when some of
their family member is afar from them but when they are all staying at home, their means of communication is
when they’re eating simultaneously and some other recreation times.

They don’t have their own private car that’s why they are obliged to ride a public transportations like
jeepneys or buses when going to some places.
