Abstract

The reason for this report and its findings is to look into effects of film viewing
integrating class can have influence and lessons on young people and adolescence
whilst they undergo a movie experience with or without for other people at the same
time.

The uses for parents or adults to be there is to supervise the experience at


times will also be shown.

The report will give understanding (to the best of our abilities) to the way in which
young people and children are the information and how they react with the outside
world and other people after watching/interacting with various movies that will be
observed.

Evidence will be collated and shown in depth throughout the report so that other
people will have a total understanding about the written piece and its reason for it.

There will be a lot of time put into the questionnaire we have designed.

Chapter 1

The Problem and its Background

Introduction

There are problems when watching movies depends what films that they have
been watched overtime and mental affection.

People nowadays were focused when watching films. So they could possible
can’t pay attention during their activities. Moreover, depends on the categories, it could
be worst if they were watching films which the theme could be prohibited. These SPG
(Strict Parental guidance) were the following; Theme, Language, Violence, Sexual,
Horror, and Drugs.

Those SPG categories especially sexual movies were developing to people’s


mind until it could lead them into curiosity.

However, they must publish a film that has lessons from reality to show it to
everybody. People’s mentality could be easily developed and influenced when a kind of
nice film that will be published.

The purpose of the study is to discover the respondent’s interactions and


influences from their favorite movies that they have watched. It could seek interest from
every category that effects from their mentality based from what they have viewed from
the film.

Background of the Study

Movie is a recording of moving images that tells a story that people watch on the
screen, television or even gadgets. It became popular when it comes for entertainment.
Until now, those graphics was on evolution and improves more attraction to the public
viewers. Also movie/films take lessons or possibly effect their mentality depends on the
sudden categories.

Based on the previous study, future researchers conducted and kind of research
about other academic effects when watching films. Many types of interest, Advantages
and Disadvantages, and etc were included from the previous research of the study.

Many issues established especially when watching SPG including on the movie.
So, curiosity could develop on people’s mentality until they will do unrespectable
criminality.

There are offenses when there are mistakable traditions, culture, or something
else that they won’t expect to be seen on the movie. Other researches resulted for
population of respondents watching films especially its effectiveness.

Other effects like curiosity and mentality disorders could make people’s mind
gone wrong. Additionally, there are difficulties when curing this kind of illness to maintain.
Furthermore, a movie with nice attraction, and lesson would be provided properly
including with the right guidance.

This study will focus on research carried out on Grade 11 students in the
Effectiveness of integrating film viewing in classroom setting. We also seek for
perceptions of the Grade 11 students to be able to understand better the factors that
influence the choices of the students. This study will help the respondents to know the
positive and negative effect of integrating film viewing.

Significance of the Study

Administration

This study may help the administration to decrease the population of viewers and
increase its positive effects of the modern movie.

Teachers

This study will provide additional knowledge on what strategy to use to educate
students about the well-known effects of the movies to student’s academic performance,
problem-solving strategy, decision making, and spatial visualization.

Students

This study could help the students to have insight on the impact of movies
towards their academic performance.

Parents

This study will help the parents to know the information about certain films or
ideas that may help their parenting.

Future Researchers

This study will be a guideline to the future researchers to if they will conduct
respondents related to the positive and negative effects of film viewing.

Theoretical Framework

According to Perdi Thomas, (2000) during the 1990’s, the world gave birth to
something that we couldn’t have possibly predicted would take over the world, and that
was the internet. Connecting people all around the world in ways that had never been
one before, the internet made the world suddenly a lot smaller. More than that movies
gave people place which they can put their thoughts, feeling, and opinions out there.
Opinions out there in the world and also find likeminded people to share these thought
with whether watching fan fiction for their favorite TV shows or movies, or if they are
debating about those shows and movies themselves. All with all form of art, movies are
often open to interpretation and fans love to get underlying meanings, layers, and theme.

This theory can help our research improve the Effectiveness of integrating film
viewing towards to respondents.

Input:

People are now downloading on the internet about movies, games, and etc. So
when watching a film, every mind of a person will be possible to be affected. Depends
when watching some SPG categories, their curiosity and other result will be cause of
sudden sin especially criminality.

Process:

The study will conduct a research on respondent’s interest and suggestions.


Additionally, we future researchers must discover about their interest and prevent them
from criminalization as the effects from their mentality.

Output:

We will propose about the effectiveness of integrating film viewing in a classroom


setting perceived by Grade 11 in San Mateo Senior High School. Also, we need
prevention to stop watching about SPG movies that will cause bad mental condition unto
curiousness. Future researchers will create survey to be answer by Grade 11 students in
San Mateo Senior High School as respondents.

classroom setting.

Definition I

Academic Performance- Is the extent to which student, teacher, or institution achieved


their terms of education.

Animation- Is a dynamic medium in which images or objects is manipulated to appear


as moving images.

Categories- It’s a class of sudden specialty in every movies, television, and etc.

Curiosity- Is a disposition to natural inquisitive behavior such as exploration,


investigation, and learning.

Download- Is to receive data from a remote system, typically for a server or even as a
web server.

Film- (Redirect from movie) it is a motion picture, moving picture, theatrical film, or photo
play, and it are a series of still images that shown on the screen.

Mentality- A mind set of way of thinking. It’s a term descriptive of how people are
influenced by their peers to adopt beliefs and behaviors.

SPG (Strict Parental Guidance) - It is restricted public screening and need for parental
guidance. Those films contain theme, violence, language, horror, drug, and sex.

Video- Is an electronic medium for the recording, copying playback, broadcasting, and
display of moving visual media.

Scope and Delimitation of the Study

This study focuses on the perception of the students regarding the


Effectiveness of integrating film viewing in classroom setting. It will be conducted in
San Mateo Senior High School Guitnang Bayan I. San Mateo, Rizal during the
school year 2018 – 2019.

The researchers will use the Grade 11 students of San Mateo Senior High
School. There are students distributed in sections.

The researcher would be able to identify 209 students as their respondents


with a total population of 438 students distributed in nine (9) sections.

There are 438 students distributed in nine (9) sections of Third Year in the High
School Department but four (9) sections with a total population of 209 will be used as
the respondents of the study. St. Thomas Aquinas (homogenous class) which is the
sixth section will not be included in the study since the focus of the study is the
students who will take The Effectiveness of integrating film viewing in classroom
setting School Year 2018-2019 and another section is also not included in the study
because the group will be used as a pilot testing for the validation of the instrument.
