Opinion on:
Trans on Cr
Following the case of Gretchen Diez, I really think that the first step of protecting their human rights
is establishing a separate public toilet for them transman/transwoman. Some may say that this will
only discriminate them further and segregate them into the society as a separate gender, when
they only want to be identified as either male or female. However, as much as how they want to be
identified as such, there are close minded people that will never listen to reason. This kind of fact
will only endanger them in the process, because who knows what those kind of people will do to
them? Some might compare this LGBTQ plus battle to what the female gender has gone through.
That women fought for their rights and got accepted eventually. On this analogy, I’d have to
disagree. If we look at it closely, women fought for their rights as both gender will benefit, example
is the right to be at the workplace, and the right to vote (the society will benefit from this as the
working force will be further more boosted and additional insights from a different perspective are
always part of many possibilities) On the other hand, the LGBTQ plus fights for their own interest,
such us wanting to use the women’s toilet just not to be left out with their female friends. That is
definitely not a valid reason. Trans-women think that women in general sympathize with them, but
the truth is, not all women do. Trans-women and men will never know what it really is like to be a
real male/female, because they were born with different genes in the first place. They may look like
male/female on the outside, but they can’t hide the fact that their genetics scream for who they truly
are.My opinion on this leads to socio-cultural tradition, as my examples are heavily based on
cultural traditions, the norms, and how to protect the minority from society’s discrimination.
If my opinions are not existent in any case. My claims would be switched to the mediator side. For
the Senate case, I’d be against their probe, as they also attack the teachers, whom they suspect for
supporting student activists. This is like slowly manipulating the society to bow down to the regime
that is oppressing the poor. However by not implementing this, many students are being recruited
out of their hatred for their family with the mask of activism. So we’ll look through the lens of critical
tradition to weigh the heaviness between valuing the safety of the students and their relationship
with the family or the prevention of speaking out and pointing the rotten system of the government.
Even if my opinion is non-existent in the trans issue, I’d still favor to establishing their own public
toilets for their own sake, and still looking through the lens of socio-cultural tradition.
