Statement of Purpose

I intend to apply for the course of International Business Management in the Niagara College,
Canada for winter term 2020.

Family background:-
I am Manjinder Kaur belong to Punjab, India. I belong to very good family. There are four
members in my Parental family it includes my parents, me and my younger brother. My father is
an Agriculturist and my mother is housewife. My younger brother is pursuing Bachelor of
Engineering from St. Soldier College, Jalandhar.

I got married to Arun Bhandari on 10th June,2018 who is working as distributor in Jio telecom.
In addition to that, in my In-law’s family, my father in law is a retired government employee
whereas my mother in law is housewife. My husband is having one brother who is also working
in Jio Company as an engineer and a sister who is married.

Educational background: -
I have completed my matriculation in March 2010, from Guru Tegh Bahadhur School, Hazara,
Jalandhar affiliated to CBSE Board and scored 60% marks. As I was always interested in
accounts, so I chose to study in Commerce stream. Then I passed my Senior Secondary
education with 77% marks in March 2012 from Lyallpur Khalsa Collegiate Senior Secondary
School, Jalandhar, affiliated to PSEB and obtained 77%. My interest again began to study the
commerce field. Then I got admission in Bachelor of Commerce at Trinity College, Jalandhar in
2012 and I cleared my degree in Commerce with 62% marks in May 2015. Further, I decided to
do Master of Commerce. In addition to that I have got admission in Master of Commerce at
Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar affiliated to Guru Nanak Dev University, in 2015, then I
have obtained my degree in 2017 with 62% marks in 2017. I have scored overall 6.5 bands in
IELTS exam.

Why did I choose this course:-

After completion of my Master’s in commerce, I started working as an assistant accountant in
Ashirwad Infotech, Jallandhar in 2017. Since, I wanted to advance my career further I did broad
research on the career options available. I found if I opt for International Business that will open
doors to more challenging and high visibility role in various Global Companies. On the other
hand, there is ample of opportunities available for supervisors and managers. During this
research, I found that Ludhiana and Jalandhar – two of the major cities adjoining my hometown
hold many opportunities. Both the cities are growing faster to become Metropolitan city of the
northern part of the country. There is great shortage of skilled supervisors and managers to
supervise the staff for effective manpower handling. Since, most of these industries are
supplying the goods to other states and even export them to other countries, there is great need of
the managers who can handle not only the staff but also communicate with the foreign clients in
effective way.

Furthermore, by studying international business management, I also gain knowledge about

world cultures and traditions, and be challenged to approach every issue with different point of
views. By considering all these, I have decided to have a career in management. This made me
to choose Diploma of International business management from Niagara College, Canada.

Financial Details
As far as financial aid is concerned, I belong to a financially stable family in India. My husband
sponsor my education and living expenses in Canada.
At the end, I would like to request you, The Canadian High Commission to consider my
application and allow me to fulfil my career objective.
